Please don't use Bible scripture

It's rather difficult to explain the existence of water without bringing up Hydrogen and Oxygen.

Not only that God exists, but that Jesus Christ is God and the only way to God.

How do I know?  Because the Holy Spirit has given it to me, as to other Christians, to know.   I don't just believe it like it's a 'maybe'.  I believe it because I know because the Spirit of God reveales it to  me to know.

Matt. 16: 13-17  " ....Who do men say that I the Son of man am? ...whom say ye that I am?.....Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God....Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hat not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. "

John 3:6-8 " That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the S;pirit is spirit...The wind bloweth where it listeh, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is everyone that is born of the Spirit. "

The Christian believes because he knows.  He knows because God has given it to him to know.

God says that is impossible to leave His Word out of anything! For all that 'IS' was created by His Word

and testifies of Him. The immensity of the cosmos and this here is unique as no other thus far to life! Love, Steven

*seeker*, First of all, welcome to Worthy. You're here for answers, but you don't want biblical scriptures. And you don't want to be preached at, or any sermons. Alright, that's okay for now. I'll not pound on the podium with a Bible. Nor will I give you an endless list of passages. But, you're placing limits upon yourself. That can block your heart and mind from the answers you are searching for. You want evident proof that God exists. You believe in some kind of 'Supreme Being', or you would have never sought God through Islam. To me, that expresses much desire, but also a great deal of confusion. You didn't find it in the the Qur'an.

You also say you're agnostic, but not an atheist, either. Good! You're not hopeless then, *seeker*. Your chosen name indicates that. There's something going on in your life, but you don't want to talk about that. What is it then? In rolling out the welcome mat, I may also be about to trip over my own tongue. I'll take my chances... Why? Because I think you're worth it. So do this God, you're not sure you can believe in. Allow me to step a little closer into your 'comfort zone'. I have some comments and then I have a few questions. Is that okay with you? You came here for a reason and you want answers. I believe without a doubt, you came to the right place. I don't know your age, your geographical location, or ethnical and cultural origin.

But that doesn't matter. This ministry has 65,800+members from all over the world. You are always welcome here. You're not just wondering whether you believe, you're wanting to believe in 'something' or 'someone' greater than yourself. You would not be *seeker*, if not for a longing in your heart. And you are searching, but you're not sure just what it is. A few questions to leave you with... Are you going through, or experiencing a troublesome situation in your life at this time? Have you lost a friend, or someone you loved, whether by leaving you behind, or passing away? Is there a problem you're facing and you can't figure out how to deal with it? Just what is it, *seeker*? All of us here, came to God because we needed Him. And we also wanted Him.

One more thing, *seeker*... I am asking you to do this, because I appreciate your honesty. I want you to say this, to a God you're not sure even exists: "God, if you're real, I want you to prove to me, in a way that I can believe without a doubt that you are real. Then and only then, will I believe in you." It starts there, *seeker*. Then, give God a chance to do this for you. If you are sincere, even though skeptical, God will honor it. What you do from there, is up to you. Take care, *seeker*. I trust you will find what you are seeking.

When we see the nature and its functioning, very easily we testify that there is God.

One quick point, what BeauJangles has said is true, but it doesn't always happen straight away. Don't be disheartened if it doesn't. God can lead you to the truth if you ask him, but he sometimes works slowly. He is patient. He wants you to be convinced of the truth in a way that you will understand, and don't forget that he made us all different.

The proof of God's existence comes when you ask Him into your heart. The feeling of Joy and peace that comes over you, but it is more than that it is the change in your behavior and the change in the your heart and mind. The feelings of Love and compassion for others come and decietefulness, hatred, and evil go away. So there is your answer, if you don't believe me. Ask Jesus into your heart and then see the changes for yourself.

Seems to me if you were seeking truth, you would just seek truth. What you say you are doing though is really looking for evidence of a God, who meets with your approval, so truth to you, is only acceptable if you like it. Truth is what truth is. What you seem to be doing is roughly equivalent to me saying "I want to know the truth about gravity, but at the same time, I can only accept gravity, if gravity repels, instead of attracts."

When you say:

I simply wanted to hear why Christians are so sure there is a God without having to resort to an ancient and outdated document written by men.

You dispaly your predjudice or close-mindedness, which reveals that you are again not seeking truth. If the bible is as in purports to be, then it is the most authoritative source on the topic of God that we have, and you choose to ignore that source. How much can we know and understand about God, apart from a revelation from Him, to us? He would have to make Himself known.

Certainly we can see evidence of a designer in the design, but that tells us little of His personality or His will for mankind. We can tell from nature, that He is powerful, and brilliant, that He exists, but in reality, nature cannot tell us if there is one God, or a pantheon of gods.

i suggest opening up your mind a little, and consider the bible, rather that assuming it is by men only, and outdated, without any evidence that your assumptions are true. For you, I think the better question to be asking, instead of "how do you know there is a God apart from what the bible says?", but rather "Why do you believe the bible is true or superior to other 'holy' books"?

I agree if truth is what you are seeking the best place to find it is in scripture. If you are not willing to look there truth is not what you are seeking!

I also don't believe in satan.

If you don't believe that there is no God then you of course would not believe that there is no satan. You cannot believe in only half of the story. Someone once said and it is very true. If you bet there is no God and there is not, then you have lost nothing. On the other hand, if you bet there is no God and there is...you have lost everything!!  The universal war of good and evil cannot be if there is only good or only evil. It only makes sense if there is good against evil. Look around in the world, do you see only evil (honest evaluation is in order) or do you see only good. No, you see both good and evil. I am not advocating seeking the evil parts of life, in fact, those should be avoided entirely. Seek good and turn from evil and your answer will be there. Ask Jesus into your heart and He will show you, He already is reaching out to you or you would not be on this site. He is knocking on the door of your heart. I hope that you find the answers you are truly seeking. I will make an intercessory prayer for you. God bless you.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
