Question about demons

Hello,

 

Okay, I really need help with this one. About 20yrs ago, I woke up in the middle of the night and heard a deep voice chanting over me and my husband. I felt like I was drugged and could not sit up. This voice was deep and raspy, never heard any voice like that before. The next morning, my husband said that he had a dream that he was in a huge snake pit, calling for help, but people kept walking by. Fast forward about 18yrs, it happened again. This time I was in more of a dream like state, but very aware of what was happening in the bedroom. I saw this dark figure walk around to my husband's side of the bed and began to chant over him something that sounded like latin again. It sounded like he was chanting "meredis" or something. So I looked it up in the Latin dictionary. The word I found was "maritus" which means HUSBAND. Of course my mouth fell open. So does anyone know the reason it was chanting over him. I do believe in demonic possession and oppression, just not sure what this chant is actually doing. It was also revealed to me that this was a very very dangerous spirit. Please help!

Whatever the chant may or may not mean, Jesus has given us authority over demons, so I'd recommend that you focus more on that aspect than on trying to understand what a demon might be saying.  IOW, concentrate on getting rid of the demonic presence through the authority of Christ.

I have had the same experience just no talking.  But I couldnt move and felt its presence.  I have felt the feeling many times and instantly I know.  Fear not and pray.  I agree with the previous comment as well.

Great answer.  As believers we cannot be possessed by a demon but there can be oppression.  I would what was suggested, take authority over this thing and don't give it so much room in your thoughts.

Thank you all for the responses. I agree that I should focus on getting rid of the presence. Believe me, I have prayed throughout the house many times for that very reason. I'm just concerned we are allowing it into our lives somehow. Thanks again

Number one if this testimony of yours is to be true do not take this lightly in any matter especially if it happened more than once. I have had demonic experience before in my life. They were playing with the lights in my apartment some years ago. No it was not lightning or the fuse box. I heard a voice also. But that was like a whisper. This voice was speaking against God. It was clear to the English that I know of.

 

 Your experience sounds frightening because I know what it feels like to have them in your place. . But it may not be as easy as picking up the Bible and asking them to leave. Because many may not be aware something they have in their life is keeping them there. One thing I had to do to get rid of them was to rid of the Pornography I had by the VCR. Porn is a direct contact with Satan himself glorifying sex as an idol of worship. 2 Movie production names that make movies for example is Devil films and Evil empire. That in it self should be a clue what source these movies are inspired by. .

 

Not only Porn but even anything that demons love to attach to: Psychics, Phenomena, UFO’s, Tarot cards, Astrology, Ouija boards, carved images, unicorns, music like Motley Crue Shout at the Devil or Kiss’ Heavens on Fire. Get all that stuff out of your place. Get any books that teach false religions that are not of God. Keep alcohol as beer and any drugs out of your place. As mice like to eat several things even demons are attached to several things that must be out of a Christians home.. 

 

In fact in books like Deuteronomy we are warned of such things. Like stay away from Witchcraft don’t even eat with such a person. Do you know why God makes the charge not to eat with them? It’s not because the Sin can’t be forgiven. It’s because the one who practices witchcraft bring Demons in their company. . So when you eat with one who does this you will have these demons in your house too for dinner.

 

But what about Jesus eating with sinners? Jesus ate with sinners but not when they were sinning. Jesus after all the Son of God has the power to drive out unclean sprits. Listen to clean music on the radio. Try to watch clean television. . Never let the devil have an inch. Please don’t consider any of these items to have any value at all even if it came from your great grandmother as a gift. Get rid of it to be on the safe side.

 

Of course as the others said use the Bible and God of authority. If you go to church you may speak to the minister about this problem also. Make him aware so your Church can pray of these things.  . I hope this can be of some help. I don’t want you to be attacked anymore. I pray that God in Jesus name puts a full protection on your premises. But even if one prays that is not enough. There is much on your part to bring God totally into your place that includes getting the Devil out in every aspect. .

 

I don’t have any problems with lights or anything. But it is still possible one can have dreams with demons going against us. Since we are being tested there is never a sure proof plan to completely keep them away. But those who can directly get inside ones place using its voice playing with objects is a sure danger not to let these ones in. Please read Mathew 4 how Jesus counters the devil. We as Jesus must use “It is Written” to follow the Bible. . God knows the heart of each person who is trying to get out of this mess. Place the Lord all about your presence always bringing God every place you go to. Let God help you win this battle. Assemble also with other believers or at least one. . It is good at least one knows your conflicts and will share this fight with you. . Encourage one another in faith. When God is at work everyone is in fear. Even demons fear God. As other posters said don’t try to solve this mystery of riddle of words. Keep away from all demonic influences of every kind and keep your self in the hands of God. .

Yes this testimony is true. In fact, I have only mentioned it to only 3 people..my husband, sister, and a deliverance minister. It seems that most people that I know pray for angels to protect them, and pray against the attacks from demons, but It's strange that if you tell them that you have actually seen or encountered a demon or angel, they have a tendency to have doubt in their voices, until it happens to them. So I just learned to deal with it. I was raised in church but didn't accept Jesus into my life until I was about 19 yrs old. I didn't drink, go to clubs, listen to "any" secular music, and only watched rated PG or G movies. The only time I watched rated R movies was if it was a "must see" contender for an Oscar or something. Well, I moved in with my sister and her husband who was a minister...well that's when the encounters started, and when I had the MOST attacks. I was constantly in prayer, reading my bible, fasting etc. The attacks were basically the same, while laying down or sleeping. While I was laying on the couch one evening, I felt an incredible sense of fear. I turned around, and saw what I assumed was a demonic spirit sitting across the room. He disappeared within seconds and I never told a soul. So I posted this experience because it seems to happen periodically regardless of what I am or am not doing. I do agree that you can definitely open doors for them... Thank you all...once again I will continue to pray and take authority over it if it continues in the future.

Keep in mind that none of us as individuals have any authority over the spiritual realm whatsoever.    It is only the authority of Jesus through us that we can deal within the spiritual world.   Actually it is the Holy Spirit working through us that can have any affect.....   so make sure you are in a very close relationship with the Holy Spirit before you start to deal with these dark entities......   and if it is you yourself that they are working on, work quickly to strengthen your relationship with the Lord.  Like the Word of God says, sometimes it takes fasting and prayer to deal with them.   Especially the big dark ones with red eyes...    tell them that they are not welcome in your world and demand in the Name of Jesus to leave.  If you are a believer who has made Jesus your Lord, they can not have your spirit in any way but deception......   so know the Word and use it against them just as Jesus did with the devil.

 

but whatever get close to the Lord as we approach the time of the End.......   the Holy Spirit is our only hope and in my experience the only help we have in the spirit world.

It sounds like this has stopped for the time being......   I was wondering if you are still living with your sister...
