There is a line of movies that will bless any Christian. They are the Billy Graham movies. Two of my favorites are The Homecoming and Power Play. Ofcourse these are not for rent anywhere that I know of. You have to buy them, but it is well worth the investment.

Just thought I would recommend this great movie to my brothers and sisters. Enough talking about "the passion" and see this one. I loved it so much I bought a copy.

the Gospel of John

Watch it and come back and tell us what you thought of it.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I bought it last year, and think it is a very good movie. It is one of those things that I will watch once a year at about this time of year.

Another movie, along these same lines, that is pretty good, only shorter than "The Gospel of John" is the Jesus Film that Campus Crusade made for it's members to use as evangelism tools. If you want to get someone interested in Christ that is a movie buff it is good tool and I only pay about ten bucks a piece for them in dvd and less than that for vhs.

I recommend renting the movie' LORENZOS' OIL

This is a true story about a boy born with a very rare disease that leaves one eventually paralyzed, unable to speak or communicate, yet totally aware of all his surroundings. This disease would claim the life of its victims usually before they reach their teenage years.

Lorenzo's parents would not except the facts from the medical community ,friends, family, that their was nothing anyone could do for their son. Many believed as they seen Lorenzo in a apparent vegitative state, that he would be better off to die.

I will say no more about the movie other then this.

Today,Lorenzo is alive and well!!! So is every child born today with this disease .At the end of the movie, you will see real pictures of those who live today because of this 'OIL'.not to mention a picture of Lorenzo.

His father was a very tireless man,and was determined to save his son.

Some thought he was behaving like a mad scientist.

But he was driven by hope and and the love for his son.

This movie was written for a secular audience, but there is no doubt in my mind God must have been moved by this fathers longsuffering and determination.

FYI-If I remember correctly,It can be difficult to hear at times due to the strong accents-german accent if I remember correctly. It is well worth getting thru the accent!

A MUST SEE!

Having now seen "Luther" I must say I was quite impressed. The movie impressed on me and reminded me how legalistic we can be. On the other hand I had no idea how much control and influence the Papacy had during the times of the Reformation. I cannot comprehend how the leaders of the church could have been so arrogant to think only they were worthy to interpret Gods word.

This is a great movie that I would also recommend. I would probably say PG-13 but perhaps you should judge for yourselves if you would have your children watch it.

I hope a few of you have had time to rent "The Gospel of John". The makers and directors of this movie spared no expense to be as accurate to scripture as they possible could be. Truely I was bless to find this movie. If you like some I know are unable to sleep without the TV on this is a great movie to have on while you sleep.

I haven't seen it for rent anywhere but I will look for it. Sadly there are not as many Christian movies as I would like but I am hopeful that may change.

There is a beautiful movie that came out a few years ago called, "The Christmas Shoes." It is one of the best made and beautifully devised movies I have seen.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Ran across "Joshua" on the shelf. Was in the Family section. Will watch it tonight when I get home from work. Looks pretty interesting. It seems almost that I have seen this one before but I am not certain. I am familiar with the main actor and have enjoyed his work in the past.

On a side note I find myself more and more disgusted by the numbers of movies about gay relationships. I was tempted to break the disks over my knee but I resisted. It frightens me to think that in time these kind of relationships could be widely considered "normal". I am not quite ready to stop renting my movies there over the ordeal but is to me a way I can measure how tolerant we are becoming.

Back to the movie. I will let you know what I think after I have seen it. But as I said, I have it at home and can't wait to see it.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
