I see many people who want Jesus to come back as soon as possible.  Does that wish shorten the time some people have to  "get right with God"?  Is part of it that almost all people do not want to experience death?  Shouldn't we want to wait until ONE more person finds Christ?

I wouldn't really call it selfish; impatience with waiting is more like it.  But we can take comfort in the assurance that He will be back when the time is exactly right.  Until then, we just need to keep looking up:mgbowtie:

You say that as if we had a choice to decide when  :cool2:

But to answer your main question, it is unfortunate that many people I have spoken to about Jesus coming have done it for other reasons, like desperation at their current status.

The rapture is not an exit policy...

He will come when the full number of gentiles have come to Him. All others will harden their hearts as they resist God's call to His grace of salvation.

I had a lady ask me if she could wait till just before death. She was living a life of sin. I asked someone and was told that yes, some are saved on their death beds. But I did not understand that each time we say no to God, not yet, we harden our hearts to the call of His Spirit. There may come a point of no return when a person no longer even cares. At that point God may also harden their hearts so that His judgement will be fully righteous. I believe that when others pray for that person, He will keep calling that person till their death.

I pray for His return when I hear of people around the world being tortured, imprisoned and starved at the hands of evil men for Christ's sake. It is not for my own sake that I want Him to return, but the whole body grieves over the suffering of a member.

I don't think it's selfish because even John wanted Jesus to come back in Revelation 22:20, but I do think we should be redeeming the time by preaching the gospel to as many people as possible.

I do not think it is selfish at all AlwaysSaved. It is our hope as Chrisitans. There is a crown for rejoicing in His return.I think that alot of people are afraid to look around them and admit the rapture could be very, very soon.

Matthew 24:37 But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. Look around you and read the news.I think you know why I believe this.

) The Crown of Glory – (1 Peter 5:4) “And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away.” Though Peter is addressing the elders, we must also remember that the crown will be awarded to all those who long for or love His appearing. This word “glory” is an interesting word referring to the very nature of God and His actions. It entails His great splendor and brightness. Recall Stephen who, while being stoned to death, was able to look into the heavens and see the glory of God (Acts 7:55-56). This word also means that the praise and honor we bestow to God alone is due Him because of who He is (Isaiah 42:8, 48:11; Galatians 1:5). It also recognizes that believers are incredibly blessed to enter into the kingdom, into the very likeness of Christ Himself. For as Paul so eloquently put it, “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us” (Romans 8:18 NKJV).

We really do not know how many are to be saved yet.It might be one for all we know.

Blessings Jerry...

It really doesn't matter what anybody wishes because the appointed time will be when it is to be,I could wish for a lot of things but it will never change reality....................I think when most Christians say they wish Jesus would come quickly it is out of joyful anticipation and great expectation.

Selfish?nah.....any true follower of Christ would only hope for the Salvation of all men & yet we know that is not possible,we trust that mankind is in good hands with God,whoever will be Saved ,will be Saved & we just do our best to spread the Gospel

And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved. Acts 2:46-47

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
