What we have seen here with over 50,000 dead and rising completely bogels the mind and we need to be praying for these people but is this a Judgement from God or a reminder of God's Judgement. Curious to get your opinions?

I think it's just a tragedy that God allowed to happen.

I think that as believers we can definately view this event as a sign of the Lord's quick return. This is the largest earthquake in the world in the past 30 years. While it is tragic in terms of human and financial loss, it is nevertheless the fulfillment of the Lord's direct word.

I'd also like to add that it is a great opportunity for the spread of the Gospel.

Amen Ovedya,

On the other hand the world goes on ticking by without missing a beat.:)

Please pray that the Lord uses this to further the Gospel and to make people think about their Salvation.

British couple go ahead with wedding plans on devastated Thai island

A British couple will go ahead with plans to get married in Phuket, unfazed by the trail of destruction unleashed by killer tidal waves that hit the popular Thai island, a hotelier said.

Motoring consultant Marc Singleton, 43, and his fiancee Lucinda Semark, 35, flew to Phuket from Singapore Monday for their Wednesday wedding at Cape Panwa Hotel on the southeastern tip of the island which was relatively unscathed by the tidal waves.

"It's going ahead as planned. They will enjoy a Thai style wedding in the morning with monks, then go to Phang Nga bay on a speedboat, sail on a traditional Chinese junk, and come back for cocktails and fireworks here at the hotel," a guest relations manager told AFP.

"They've brought a lot of friends," he said, adding that hotel staff were working hard to raise the spirits of everyone at the resort.

"Apart from the fact that many people are sitting by the beach instead of swimming, everything seems fine," Singleton told Singapore's Straits Times newspaper.

"Just being here, you wouldn't know disaster had struck the west coast," he said.

Phuket was hit Sunday by tsunamis trigerred by an undersea quake off the west coast of nearby Sumatra island in neighboring Indonesia that measured 9.0 on the Richter scale.

An estimated 2,000 people including hundreds of foreign tourists are believed to have died in the whole of southern Thailand including Phuket, which saw some 2.75 million international visitors last year.

Peace,

Dave

Greetings,

Matthew 24:6-8 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Luke 21:9-13 But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by. 10 Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: 11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven. 12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake. 13 And it shall turn to you for a testimony.

The "natural events" have been occuring since Noah's flood. So has wars and rumours of wars. They shall continue, but I believe their intensity and number will increase.

But note, that before this earth gets to its worst, "they shall lay their hand on you and persecute you...." We have been seeing "martyrs" since the cross, but it is going to increase beyond what we can understand now.

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

All these earthquakes are foretold in scripture, however judgement? I don't think so. Right after the earthquake in San Francisco in the late 80's where there several hundred dead, I had a guy come up to me with a paper he wrote saying that the earthquake was God's judgement on the gays. I told him he was ten miles out of line. God's judgement never get's out of control. He asked me to explain. I told him that there were a lot of innocent people that were not gay, children older people, that had perished in that quake, what about them? No I really don't think this is God's judgement, but I pray that people will now seek God and His Son.

I only know two things -

One is that huge and horrible natural disasters have happened forever on this planet, and everytime (at least in this past century that I know of) there are many claims of this being the sign of the end.

Mass communications around the globe and a higher population of people than ever before make a huge difference.

The second are the verses in Revelation that speak of the horrors befalling the people of the Earth, "yet they did not repent of their [sin]."

Whether more of the same or indeed a sign of the end, we should always watch a pray.

And lending a ministering hand wouldn't be a bad idea, either, if we can.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
