Other countries hating Americans

I also wanted to point out, that while some of us may not agree with President Bush completely OR at all, calling him names IS NOT something anyone who claims to be christian should be doing. In all the forums I have visited, I am absolutely amazed at the talk some who profess to be followers of Christ, allow themselves to handle. Much of the time, you see this kind of talk when Bush is mentioned, and it's ridiculous.

I don't agree with our President on all points, but I'm not going to resort to name calling or hateful put downs just because of it. If I did.....God help me. The same would be true if Kerry had won the presidency....its just pointless to resort to that. If we are christians, lets PRAY for the president. We don't have to support him in all that he does, and its okay to voice our opinions, BUT that can be done without words that suggest hatred.

Consider how foolish this sounds: some of us christians call Bush names while discussing the problems of this nation, THEN we turn around and say, "Lord please bless our Commander in Chief....may he look to you in every decision he makes...etc". Do you think our prayers for him would make it through the roof? Do you care?

PLEASE, as people who are supposed to be striving to be more like Christ, lets not go down to that level. I can see such hateful words coming from those who do not know Christ, but from a christian....NO. It should never be under no circumstances!

God Richly Bless You All! :taped:

I haven't read every reply here, so forgive me if I repeat something that has already been said.  America has it's up and downsides just like any other country.  I don't have a lot to say about it, but I have always been of the belief that much of the rest of the world hates us because we back Israel...when much of the world HATES Israel.  As for the Islmaists, I think most of them hated us even before the whole Iraq ordeal.  Some will say this is only true for the extremists, but I'm not sure I agree.  If you have ever read from the Koran, you will see that christians are to be regarded as the lowest of the low pretty much.  I don't know if anyone is comfortable with reading the Koran, but there is a verse in there which pretty much tells followers of Islam to kill the Christians and Jews wherever they find them.  They are told to not be afraid of large armies even if there are only a few of them going against that army...that they will prevail.  I don't doubt that there could be some good hearted followers of Islam out there...perhaps some who don't know their scriptures too well, but Islam is a religion filled with hatred.  No one could convince me otherwise...it is in their bible.  There are many of them who would like nothing more than to see Western Civilization cease to exist.  They are sickened by the freedom our women have here, the majority who profess to believe in Christ (whether christian or not), etc.  SO, I just can't buy into the argument that it has been the war in Iraq that has caused them to hate us so much.  Many of the citizens of Iraq rejoice to see Hussein out of power, and those who are still fighting against us, are those very ones who have always hated us with a passion....fighters with links to terrorist groups, etc.  I don't see us accomplishing much else than having Hussein removed....I can't see any stability there, BUT I think the muslims who hate us now, have always hated us.  Maybe I will be torn apart for this, but I believe Islam is nothing but another religion that satan had a hand in bringing about.  He loves to deceive.

As for our contribution to the tsunami victims, I strongly believe any negative opinions about that is nothing but foolishness!  When Powell spoke about the amount our country was giving, he made it clear that the amount could very well go up.  Regardless of whatever figure has been thrown out there recently, we have no idea how much the final total will be when this is all said and done....which will be quite a while.  Besides that, some of our military is working in the areas affected right now....flying needed supplies into remote areas that are hard to reach.  Some might want to put us down over this whole situation, but I have seen the looks on those peoples faces on the news, and they are truly grateful.  Also, US citizens are still donating money here everyday to help with this crisis.

Anyway, this country is no worse than many others, and in ways, is no better either.  It seems that most people today just take anything they find or hear, and make it into something much worse than it is.  This tsunami crisis and our contribution is a perfect example of that.  I don't see that getting any better either.  God has always known the direction this world would go, and thats why the bibles prophesies are coming together quite nicely.  I don't think any of it can be changed.  Perhaps America could change some of it's ways for the better, but that means little when there are so many other countries who have taken a turn for the worst...just as we have.  My thing is...PRAY for our world, and spread the good news of Christ like there is no tomorrow!  America is hated, Israel is hated, MANY are hated.  Perhaps soon the antichrist will step onto the scene and have a seemingly perfect solution for peace, but it won't last.  There will only be real peace when our King returns...and not a minute sooner.

Great post.

but I have always been of the belief that much of the rest of the world hates us because we back Israel...when much of the world HATES Israel

I think that's it in a nutshell. And, considering the message of the Scriptures, it's probably a no-brainer. :emot-pray:

What then does a person do if they truly believe this is the case...  Just pray for the man and hope, or try and show others that he is not what he seems.  The amount of inforamtion that has been presented on this board is un nerving that people overlook because he talks as a believer.

None of us know one way or the other if the man is a christian or not, we only have what he does as a clue, and what he does does not line up with what he says a lot of the time, and even what he says does not always line up with what most of us think as Christanity.

Pray for him????  yes I do, and I pray that he does not get our nation destroyed in the process of what he is doing.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I think I might be missing something, but I'm not sure what this has to do with my post. I agree with you that we cannot possibly know for sure if he is a christian or not. All we can do is pray for him and this nation, as we should do for any president in office. All I'm saying is, the name calling and hateful words that are directed toward him, is not very christianly at all. I have heard supposed christians calling him things like...a clown, stupid, idiot, etc. To me, those are words with no love in them. We are commanded to love, and our speech should not be filled with such anger and hatefulness.

It is perfectly okay to disagree with him and to discuss it. If you feel people are deceived in some way by him or anyone else, there is a right and wrong way to try to get your point across. Thats all I'm saying here. Why on earth would any decent minded person take seriously someone who is trying to make them "see the light", when that person speaks in such a way as I have described here? I don't know about most people, but I defintely wouldn't take someone like that seriously, and would not see Christ in them at all.

In no way am I suggesting you are guilty of doing this. I just couldn't understand why that response to my post. I know what you are saying, and like you...I don't agree with him on all points, and what I have said has nothing to do with whether I believe he is a christian or not. I don't know if he is, and that isn't why I feel this way. Regardless of who was in office, I would still say name calling and insults are absolute foolishness on the part of anyone who calls theirself a christian. Thats all I'm saying, and I don't understand how any christian could disagree.

Again, that is all I'm saying. If I have missed something you were tying to say, please let me know. By all means, stand up for what you believe in...theres nothing wrong with that. Theres nothing wrong with discussing it either. It's good that you pray for him, and I hope many others do regardless of what they think of him. We should pray for him, this nation, and even our enemies....and we certainly don't agree with our enemies.

MAY GOD BLESS YOU RICHLY!!!

I think that some of them may think that we are so bad just because of what they see on the news but they need to know that all Americans are not like that. Yes people have their own probloms and they might show it in pubilc and you might think they are crazy but deep down inside everybody has a good heart. Your Friend needs to look down inside people and see that we can all be good people. Even though we may not show it we are all good at heart. :)

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
