A short generic answer is that they lack vocal cords. Out of all creation on earth, only mankind has the gift of speech. What a privilege it is to be able to express our adoration and thanks. What are your thoughts about this? Actually, many animals do have vocal chords. They lack the brain capacity to produce speech though.
