Coincidence. How many times does some state say something about Israel and nothing noteworthy happens? Then again, how common are quakes of that size? I doubt very much you'd have a statistically significant correlation. When I read of prophetic happenings in the Bible, they do not seem the type of thing that we'd have to wonder, I wonder if this is an act of God or ordinary stuff happening to correlate temporally.

I am of mixed opinion. Certainly nothing is beyond God's observation. I think lots of things happen, because of the curse He placed due to the fall. How specific that is in details. I am not privy to. If God is in control of everything, then He is responsible for everything, and I would hate to blame Him for things that might be more random or happenstance.

It seems like something happens every day. Living in California, we are used to knowing earthquakes as a reality. Earthquakes are common, so is sin. Do we only count the ones over a certain magnitude, to be relevant for consideration, or do we measure them by damage, or by number of deaths?

If so, does that mean countries where more people die because of shoddy construction, are worse sinners than those with stronger buildings? When in 1812 in California, 40 people died in a church due to an earthquake, was it because those forty were hypocrites?

How is it possible to know, let alone make an educated guess, about these things. Unless God tells us: "If you recognize Palestine, I will give you a quake", it is just speculation. I remember people saying the tsunami in 2004 was a judgement by God against Muslims. Really? Christians died there too, and Muslims are all over the world, not just in Indonesia, went only living,

I will bless them that bless you and curse them that curse you - we use that to concern ourselves with our stance toward Israel. Is that about Israel? if so, which Israel, the person, the political entity, the boundaries of a nation within a certain border, is it a bloodline? Is it about Israel the Jews, or true, spiritual Israel, the chosen of God?  I do not know how to sort these things out, so I am not willing to speculate about things of which I know I am ignorant.

Having had 13 greater that magnitude 5 earthquakes in my area in the last decade, it is hard for me to be that impressed.

Shalom,

Just out of curiosity, do you think these two headlines today a God-incidence or just happenstance?

Greece officially starts using term ‘Palestine’  -- June 8, 2015

Greece earthquake: magnitude 5.2 tremor felt in Athens - June 9, 2015

Inquiring minds -- wanna know?

Your brother in the Lord with much agape love,

George

How many earthquakes and tremors does Greece experience on a regular basis?   I would be very cautious about reading into this anything other than a coincidence.

time to switch from hope to something else - the usa is due soon, and fast, judgment.

remember the tsunami in japan?  and 9/11 ? ... and oklahoma city?

all happened within 24 to 48 hours after 'they'(japan/ usa)  did something harmful to Israel.

I do really hope that it is a coincidence....    for what our president is about to do, if that was a message from God, we are in great danger here.

Having said what I said, I do not believe that God is judging anyone at the moment. He is rather extending great mercy to the world. His time for judgment is reserved for later.

What we are witnessing is the continuation and mounting up of "great birth pangs".

Romans 8:22-23

For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now. 23 And not only this, but also we ourselves, having the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our body.
