It's quite funny really, every time they think of what they don't believe, they are invariably confirming what they are trying to reject. Having an atheist church can only end up going in the opposite direction - eventually....

So if someone doubts that bigfoots are tromping around in our forests, they are actually confirming that they really....deep down, believe that they are?

Obviously not, but in keeping with Kan's "atheist church analogy," it would be like the creation of an anti-big foot society along with a mandatory statement of "unbeliefs".

When you consider how atheists are treated or viewed you might understand why they would form a church or support group.  I used to go to a UU church to have that Sunday morning connection with folks who had similar values that I hold.  I imagine these churches are similar.  I would highly doubt they spend much time helping each other affirming their disbelief in gods.

How atheists are treated??   Go to an atheist chat room and tell them you are a Christian and see how you are treated.  Go and try to live in a country ran by atheists and see how much freedom you have if you are a committed Christian.  Honestly, Atheists are not victims.   Its Atheists who try to restrict freedom of religion even here in the US. It's atheists try to ban any public expression of faith.

Shiloh, historically when people are polled on how they view atheists, they are one of the least trusted members of our society.  There was a poll that I saw that had us almost dead last, the Muslims beat us.  Imagine a Presidential candidate that said he was an atheist, do you really think he or she would have a shot?  I think we're going in the right direction to fix this however.

I don't know of any atheists trying to ban all public expressions of faith.  Using government property and funds to do so yes, but not just regular people having a bible study in the park or something.

I'm not trying to suggest that atheists are beat up or attacked, but people seem to think that if someone doesn't believe that there's a God watching everything they do then they must be suspect and untrustworthy.

I don't care if someone wants to worship the moon or a tree, just don't use tax payer money to put up an idol on a courthouse lawn.

I appreciate what you're saying Morning, I was just responding to a post that [to me] sounded like atheists don't believe in God so that they can not be held accountable for their actions.  My point was that it doesn't appear that by believing in God that people are holding themselves to some incredible moral standard.  I know Christians are human, I'm actually good friends with my boss, he's a good man.  It's just odd to see that Bible on his desk and yet see him ignore it when it's convenient.

In America anyway, I really don't see the Christian life as much different than mine.  The views are different, but not the lifestyle.

Ij'm not going to argue tht point, Bonky.  Many claim to be Christian but just don't get it.  Jesus said "No one goes to the Father except by me".  And that's the whole of Christianity in a nutshell.

A trickster came into a village and showed them how to make gold. They learned the process, and he told them that it won't work if they think about the red faced monkey. Of course no one could produce the gold.

So if someone doubts that bigfoots are tromping around in our forests, they are actually confirming that they really....deep down, believe that they are?

Well kind of, every time they mention the thing they are advertising it, which is kind of odd, like the unbelievers who want to rid the world of God, but keep mentioning His name everywhere...

Atheists should stop evangelizing.

Thanks. Now I have a red-faced monkey in my head.

I try to identify with atheists, I want to know why they have not seen what I have, and I feel that their knowledge of God is equal to mine, in fact, I can't help thinking they know God more than I do, but probably not aware of it.

Because there is too much intelligence and design and wonder in nature. Wisdom is everywhere, and humans seem to have lost most of it, but not the animals. They are simple, yet mysterious, kind, wild and smart.

All atheists might need is a slight wake up, and suddenly the world around them will become alive with creative power.

Believing is not an introverted thing is it?

It does not matter what one believes, look at the world around us.

(Except the red faced monkey - sorry about that)

Any halfway intelligent person can see that the universe did not come into existence on its own, or through time and chance.  Only a fool believes that there is no God.

I do. Actually, I do not believe the Universe came into existence at all, at least if I take relativity (my main field of studies) literally. In any case, I do not believe in a creation act involved in the existence of the Universe. Independently from it having had a beginning or not.

So, yes. Less than Halfway intelligent and 100%  fool. Guilty as charged. ;)

Even Einstein did not entirely subscribe to Atheism, but at the same time dodged the issue:

"I believe in Spinoza's God who reveals himself in the orderly harmony of what exists, not in a God who concerns himself with the fates and actions of human beings."

How can a God who reveals Himself in "orderly harmony" not be concerned with human beings?  So here is a genius talking like a fool.

Just be fully aware that all Atheists will eventually stand before Christ and bow their knees to Him.

yes, but not only atheists. Einstein will be included too. And all believers in a different god. I expect the vast majority of Jews who never believed in Jesus as the Messiah will also be included. i am a Jew and I never met a Jew, not even in Israel, who believes that Jesus was the saviour. They will also bow their knees, If I understood that correctly.

But I am still learning, so I might be wrong. Am I?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
