I was in the brico marche (do it yourself shop ) looking at wallpaper ,so I asked the assistant to show me some , and in the process (someone of at least 30 ) she told me that this roll was this price and this one another ,but then she said , but this one has ten metres and this one 25 .The one of ten showed 1,80 per metre ,so I said then that one of 25 is more expensive than the other per metre . Complete blank she could not understand  , even after ten minutes that to know the real price you have to have per metre, or per yard in your case I think .

She kept repeating ,that roll costs this, and  that one this ,and finally I left without buying anything, because she was getting angry .In Scotland or Ireland this would never happen as maths is very important there, but French education does not encourage mental adaptability in the same way   .It is showing  up now in new tecnology .
