Do you think anything the Pope would have said to Obama regarding abortion or planned parenthood would have born any fruit. It would have been wasted time and words. He had very limited time and had to choose the topics to speak to that would have a better result of building relationships.

If you have a hard lesson to learn, you are going to be more receptive to a friend than a foe.

I agree.

Jesus visited the tax collectors and sinners, sat with them, talked with them, ate with them, and was accused by the Pharisees for doing so.

Matthew 9

10Then it happened that as Jesus was reclining at the table in the house, behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and were dining with Jesus and His disciples.11When the Pharisees saw this, they said to His disciples, "Why is your Teacher eating with the tax collectors and sinners?" 12But when Jesus heard this, He said, "It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick

Matthew 5:46
If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that?

Matthew 11:19
The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, 'Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.' But wisdom is proved right by her deeds."

Mark 2
16 When the teachers of the law who were Pharisees saw him eating with the sinners and tax collectors, they asked his disciples: "Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?" 17And hearing this, Jesus said to them, "It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick; I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners."

Luke 5
30 But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law who belonged to their sect complained to his disciples, "Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?" 31And Jesus answered and said to them, "It is not those who are well who need a physician, but those who are sick

Luke 15
2 But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered, "This man welcomes sinners and eats with them."

3So He told them this parable, saying, 4“What man among you, if he has a hundred sheep and has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open pasture and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? 5“When he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. 6“And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’ 7“I tell you that in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.

The Pope does so as well, and he also is accused.

yes Jesus sat with tax collectors and sinners. But didn't he always call for repentance?  He didn't just ignore sin     He didn't leave people feeling like they can continue in their sin. He exposed it. Go and sin no more.

:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

And neither of you know what went on behind the scenes, off camera.

Since when is judging by only what is made public what we are called to do as followers of Christ?

did the woman at the well go away saying Jesus did not condemn her sin of living with a man who was not her husband?

Where does it say Jesus condemned her at all in any way?

John 8

10Straightening up, Jesus said to her, “Woman, where are they? Did no one condemn you?” 11She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, I do not condemn you, either. Go. From now on sin no more.”

He didn't ask if Jesus condemned HER.  He asked if Jesus condemned her sin.   Read.

From my perspective it is a question thrown in there from left field and has no actually relevancy, but an attempt to change the topic.

Maybe I choose incorrect wording. Point is, Jesus told her to put the sin behind her by sinning no more. Turn and repent. Condemn the sin by putting it to death.

Yes, and?

When Jesus said those words to her, everyone had left.  They were no longer in the public eye.

8Again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. 9When they heard it, they began to go out one by one, beginning with the older ones, and He was left alone, and the woman, where she was, in the center of the court.

What does that have to do with my post which was quoted about not knowing what when on behind the scenes, out of the public eye?

I'm posting this so you all can see it. You all are forcing us to lock, hide or remove threads.... I don't think anyone involved is ignorant to what it is they imply, bait or say to one another. So, this is my public attempt ( after one on one private attempts ) to request you all start putting in some effort into edifying one another...not debating every little detail one can imagine.

God Bless,

Hip

I saw his visit on the news ..

I find it "odd" for these two "world leaders" to be meeting .. at all ..

it just seems contradictory or hypocritical or something to me .. seeing these two men meet ..

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
