Yes,your mind being put in a trance.I think that is under the category of hypnotism.I have heard that some people can be  put into a trance with some of the mediation and tongues in some of the Churches.

Right, but was started by OP, and I think the meaning was misunderstood. The bible clearly states a trance is something that at least did occur. I believe in modern times we tend to think of that word in a different context. Thanks noob!

What ever the way God chooses to speak- we in this time are to check it completely with the finished Word of revelatory truth through to the eternal state.
The Bible lacks nothing in the instruction set to us. For God proclaims that it is able to make us perfect
2 Tim 3:16-17
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for
reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God
may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Using a worldly definition for spiritual things is even worse that "Not OK" when trying to defend an indefensible position.  I notice you made no effort to search the Scriptures, and that is where you went off on a tangent.

To me a trance is a trance.I am also not into visions and dreams as a way that the Holy Spirit speaks to me.I am sure they occurred in the bible but for today....nope sorry.Not to say that He can't.The Bible should always be our first resource not a vision or dream.
