You should talk to your pastor, not just to share what you are seeing and sensing, but also to get his input on it.  This would be confidential so you would not be gossiping or causing harm.

If he does not show an appropriate level of concern, then this is the wrong congregation to be part of.

It seems that the enemy is extremely subtle, and often knows the Word of God better than many Christians these days.  

Someone brought to my attention that they think two very prominent in our church have a counterfeit spirit, and the more I have observed them, the more it's difficult to tell.  I don't know if there's anything specific I can point out about them as evidence, but something about them is beginning to trouble me too.  They are not related, by the way.

I don't even know if I can take this to my Pastor, as this is such a serious accusation, I just don't want to be wrong; but it seems more people have had the same feelings about these two.

One of them is always prophesying in the service, sometimes about things I just think are inappropriate and could be told to the specific person after the service, without having to air their dirty laundry in public.  And sometimes it seems kinda prosperity based, or kinda legalistic, but nothing extra obvious.  But it's every service without fail.  That in itself isn't bad, but it does lead me to wonder.

The other is a lady and she is always dressing provocatively.  And some things she says just don't jive with me: like saying we are little gods and we deserve to live with best quality of things.  Hmm.  And when she prays she shouts.  That I have nothing against, but it's almost violent and aggressive, not in the right 'spirit' I would say.  But again, that is just me.

One common denominator in them, and others I tend not to hang around with, is the sheer pride.  Total arrogance.  

Obviously, this spirit is everywhere, but I don't want to start reading wrongly into people, as that is very easy to do with this kind of thing.  I do like to think the best of people, and give them the benefit of the doubt, as I would like to be given too, but sometimes it seems like their goal not to be taken this way.

 

I have been praying about this, and waiting upon the Lord's answer as the final and ultimate answer, just wondering what you guys think.

From what I know of you -here- I am receiving witness of the truth that is within you 'His Spirit bearing witness with my spirit sort of thing':

This glorious heritage that we have through faith, established by His Word, tells us that our Father in Heaven has His Hand as a grip around our
being  that cannot be loosed- the fire will burn up that which we do not want anyway and make us more like our dear Savior 'Jesus'.... I am so very
thankful to God that He has made so simple this reality- we are a people of His glory formed in place (here now) that we want not-> awaiting the
place where He 'IS' to love and adore Him with all that we have been born of... What would we give for this place->everything! Why? Because it 'IS' ( ! )
This is the true litmus 'Our Faith' - if it's foundations our born out of the Word of God 'Living' then this hope is without being seen= enough to let
go of all that has been seen... making a pure an undefiled path where sin cannot journey with for the fire shall burn it away as we approach Our Lord...
Anyone that is leading you else wise is not of The Holy Spirit of God ! As He alone stands in our hearts so also He stands here

here is what I would do, and this is my personal take on this, get far away from this church, for you will not be able to change the church, and find another one, that teaches, what Jesus taught, and what the bible tells us, for its all about Jesus , and our father God ,and not on what people want to bring up on there own, if it is not biblical and in line with scripture, then you will know,

And second, if you stay too long in being a follower ,and not discerning the spirit by your reading of scriptures , it may drag you in, to where you, would not want to be !

be cautious, and observe, if they are being faithful to the truth, if they are not in truth of scripture and conduct, then you may want to seek another church.

 

I would agree with Sinnersaved and MorningGlory.  I would start looking for another church, it makes me want to ask how much control the pastor has.  Anything that is out of order is not of the Lord and this sounds like it is totally out of order. I"m uncomfortable and I don't even go there.  Yeah find someplace else to worship, you don't need anything like this in your life.

Ok, new update.  I have talked with my pastor, and he has confirmed what I have seen.  He is not doing nothing, he is simply waiting on God for direction, which makes sense, as His ways are better than man's ways.  He and his family have peace, and actually God has given me peace about it too.  

Not only that, more and more people seem to be picking up on these two offenders, and another one with a controlling spirit has surfaced.  I think God is in the process of weeding out His church, but what we are praying is that these offending ones would come to repentance in God's mercy and grace, because, as we know:

The gates of hell cannot prevail against it, one should touch not the Lord's anointed, he who touches those that are His touches the apple of His eye, and that vengeance indeed is the Lord's.

God is getting ready to do something in our midst, so those who are offering strange fire will have to submit or get out of the way or something.  

God is in control.  To Him alone be all the glory!
