that's good to know for we are meeting family at a hotel in Tulsa for three days to celebrate Christmas with both sides of my daughter and son in law's families....     I'd hate to think we might have some sweet natured peaceful muslim shoot us all up.....     good for our president keeping us all safe....

I read in our (Australian) newspaper this morning that America has had over 355 mass killings this year. I was flabbergasted. Apparently you are 15 times more likely to get killed in the USA than in Australia. (Give us time though.....)

I read an article tonight that belied that statistic. Mass killings as defined by the fbi (3 or more people died), there were only 66 this past year. Your statistic (as quoted by a lot of media) is a false statistic (using the definition of 4 or more people shot but not necessarily killed). I read in another article that france had more deaths from mass killings this year than we did in the us (when adjusted for population size.) I recall the article quoting stats of 2 deaths per million for one european country, whereas the us was .009 per million people. I cant recall where I read that article except that it was on a decent news media, not a questionable site.

 

As of Nov. 27^th the Mass Shooting Tracker database showed 351 mass shootings during 2015, but only 66 of those fell under the FBI’s definition of a mass killing. (Source, abc news).

There were Christians who died in San Bernardino.   Imagine how different this might have turned out if they had been armed were not having a party in a "gun-free" zone.

Unarmed citizens is exactly what terrorists and criminals look for because they know you can't fight back.  Everyone can be as spiritual as they want, but in the end, Christians still die in gun attacks.   Imagine if the Christians in Iraq and other countries in the middle east had been armed and able to defend themselves, imagine how many could have been saved.   It's safe sit behind the computer in safety and preach about "faith," but it is a whole different story when it's your family's life on the line.   Lot's of Christians die every year from all kinds of crimes.  Expecting God to swoop in and save the day is really naïve and presumptuous.  That is a perversion of true faith.

California has some of the strictest gun control laws in the country and they don't stop people from killing.  Same is true with Chicago.  Very strict gun control laws and there hundreds if not thousands of people dying every year from gun violence in Chicago.
