Dont be careless-Adding to Gods word..

When EVE was tempted,she added "neither shall ye touch it".to Gods word (Gen 3:3).

Let us know how serious this is .One who knows the authority of God would never add a syllable .

The Word of God is clear enough " Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat".but of the tree of knowledge of good and evil ,thou shall not eat of it.(Gen 2:16-17).

God had never said "touch not",this was added by Eve.

All who easly change Gods Word ,eighter by adding or by deleting ,give evidence ,they do not know authority ;hence they are rebellious and untaught.

Eve saw God daily ,she did not recognize authority

 

When ever we wonder astray from God,the character of our authority changes

 

2 Thess 2:3)-let no man deceive you by no means..

Isa 59:11)-Behold , the lords hand is not shortened ,that it cannot save,nor,his ear heavy that it cannot hear.

I don't disagree, but God had spoken to Adam before Eve had been created.  So it may have been Adam who had given the added remark about touching it.  We will never know for sure.  But Eve was judged for being deceived.  She certainly disobeyed her husband as well.    Adam was judged for his disobedience to God's spoken word.  Gen 2:17, 21 and 3:13,17.

Notice that Adam, when confronted by God, sort of passed the buck saying The woman YOU gave me, SHE gave me of the tree and I ate.  Eve admitted The serpent deceived me and I ate.   Adam bears the responsibility of sinning against the words of God that he had heard face to face.  It's not like he had hundreds to remember as in the case of the Jews in Moses' time.  Both Adam and Eve did not demonstrate the fear of the Lord, the beginning of wisdom.  Psm. 111:10

Why am I to believe Eve was lying or mistaken?  Why not take her at her word for she had not yet sinned?

      Funny,I just had a conversation about this exact topic the other day "Adding to Gods Word" & using Eve as a reference,,,,,,,,great stuff!   Yes,the enemy surely ran with her added words,,,,I imagine when she held the fruit in her hand the devil was very quick to bring to her attention that "nothing happened,she did not die",,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,the father of lies indeed,we must know Gods Word ,,,,,,the lesson was shown to us in the Garden,,,,,,,,,,,                                  To God be the Glory!      With love-in Christ,Kwik
