The way I understand it, the statue is made up of world empires which flow on one from another.  They're all part of the same system.  Then a little stone, not in any way connected to the statue, strikes the statue on it's feet thus destroying it and all the empires which came before it.

Governments, politics, economies, etc; they all have their place but none of them is the kingdom of Heaven. To me, this illustrates what I see as a fairly common theme in the gospels and prophecy; God's kingdom is better than any man-made kingdom.

Hi Endtime_Survivors,

Yes, because Jesus will be King over every realm.

Not according to their almost daily attacks and brutality against innocents. The above is incompetent Kerry's delusion, but ISIS is winning the war at this point.

ISIS is losing territory on the ground in their previous stronghold. This is the context. The reason this is important is the Caliphate needs territory to be legitimate. Many think this would herald the end of ISIS but it would only signal the beginning of a different kind of conquering and furthering the agenda of taking peace from the earth. Worldwide terror attacks by ISIS are on the rise as was expected. Baghdadi is going to be the most hunted man in history. Likely they'll catch him, try him, execute him, and the dragon will heal and empower him to persecute, well, everybody.

Dear brothers and sisters,

Grace and peace of our lord Jesus Christ.

I thank Lord for this topic and for the life of yours. I might learn many things with the argumentations of each one of you. I am very happy with the fact of sister Marilyn to like only of explications that have support in the Sacred Scripture. In fact, like said Paul, we ought to compare spiritual things with spiritual things (1Cor 2.13).

And this is what I could conclude:

1 - THE HEAD NEBUCHADNEZZAR. (Dan. 2: 38). Note that the head ISN’T Babylon, but Nebuchadnezzar. Daniel didn’t say that the head is Nebuchadnezzar’s kingdom, but him.

2 - THE CHEST & ARMS – MEDES & PERSIANS (“Your kingdom has been divided & given to the Medes & Persians”. - Dan. 5:28). Here really it is a kingdom (“after thee shall arise another kingdom” - Dan 2.39).

3 - THE BELLY & THIGHS – GREECE.  (“the male goat is the kingdom of Greece.” - Dan. 8: 21). Here also it is a kingdom (and another third kingdom of brass – Dan 2.39).

4 - THE LEGS – ROME. (“And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered.” - Luke 2:1). The legs also it is a kingdom (And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron – Dan 2.40).

5 - THE FEET & TOES – Alliance between Rome (iron) and Israel (clay).

To understand who are the “feet and toes”, analise Dan 9.24-27:

  • ·        “Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.”

Who is the people that destroyed Jerusalem after Nabuchadnezzar? Rome.

Besides, see what said Daniel:

  • ·         “Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces. And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.” (Dan 9.23,24).

Note that the ten horns out of the fourth beast. Consider that the fourth beast is the legs of the Nebuchadnezzar’s statue. So, the feet and toes are the continuation of the legs. Because even the feet and toes have iron in their composition. So, the feet and toes are Rome after it having corrupted itself with clay (Israel – Jer 18.4,6).

Unfortunately, Israelites are going to do alliance with Rome (he [antichrist] shall confirm the covenant with many [jewishs] for one week), both in terms of marriage, as in political area.

The degradation of the empires give itself slowly. Nabuchadnezzar had full power (Dan 4.22; 5.19). His word was unquestionable. Of all the gentile kings, he was who more was used for Lord (three chapter in Sacred Scripture).

After it comes Media-Persia. In this empire the law had more power that king’s will (Dan 6.6,12,15). Although Cyrus (Ezra 1.1-3), Ahasuerus (Esther 1.1), Dario (Dan 6.1), Artaxerxes (Ezra 7.1) had been used for Lord, it was not as much as Nabuchadnezzar.

After it comes Grecian. Note that no king is mentioned in Sacred Scripture.

After it comes Rome that, to govern, seek the support of the conquered enemies (see Luke 7.5; John 19.15) and neither of them is mentioned in sacred scripture, but only their title: Caesar Augustus (Luke 2.1).

As you can see, the more the king tried to be democratic, the more he weaken and corrupt himself.

Make it clear: it isn’t the Revived Roman Empire. It isn’t possible to revive something that never died. The Roman Empire is here until now, only that disguise of religion. Through Catholicism (instituted by Constantine) the global elite controls economy, politics and religion. Note the accords that politics do with Vatican and how the Vatican is owner of many banks. The worldwide leaders discover that for economy is more lucrative than doing wars. It’s more easy to control humanity inducing them to think that they are free, without that they perceive that they are being manipulated (by media, religion, money, etc).

Besides, in Revelation is said that the beast controls the world through economy (Rev 13.16-18), political (Rev 17.17) and religion (Rev 13.14,15).

It there is one more thing to consider: see that the most inferior is put below supporting all the weight of the statue. In Lord’s kingdom, the patterns are inverted. The most important is put in the foundation (see Rev 21.19) where it is little seen, but that is capable of supporting all weight.

Kind regards in Christ, Leonardo Von Dolinger de Brito.

Can you give biblical evidence for interpreting the Iron Kingdom of the great image as Rome? I have never seen any.

Well the biblical evidence is quite clear. Palestine was a province of Rome when Christ was born and when He died.

Rome succeeded Greco-Macedonia, which succeeded Persia, which succeeded Babylon. All these correspond to the different parts of the image seen by Nebuchadnezzar.

Cesar Augustus and Pontius Pilate were both historical and mentioned in Scripture.

None of which provides a link to Rome as the Iron Kingdom. For instance, link all the attributes of the Iron Kingdom in Dan 2 to Rome. Explain how Rome fits into the clear succession from Alexander to his four generals as clearly presented and interpreted by the angel in Dan 8.

History tell us Rome was contemporary with Greece and little more than a 3 world country in 323 bc. Rome did not in any way succeed the mighty Grecian empire of Alexander. But his four generals did, as clear biblical evidence from Dan 8 states unequivocally and as history records.

Rome is clearly out of consideration as the final empire and power base of the beast.

Roman Empire Map in 117 A.D.

Both Egypt and Syria were within the Roman Empire.  So your argument falls flat.

Your post is a distraction. We are not talking about a Roman map from 117 ad when Rome was very powerful. The question is who succeed Greece. Greece fell in 323 bc. Rome could not have succeed Alexander as they would have never defeated even one of the powerful generals that actually did take over after the fall of the Macedonian king. Beside this,  Dan 8 tells us that four notables horns came up after the great horn was broken. These four notables ones are the generals of Alexander as history and the Bible records. Again, in 323 bc Rome was very weak and engaged in fighting for their existence against their equally small neighbors. Rome is not, never was, and will never be a successor to Greece.

Further the little horn comes from one of the four notable horns. That means the little horn comes from either Egypt, Asia Minor, the Seleucid domain or Greece. Again, Rome cannot be considered.

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
