Do you have a more authentic self, what is that person, and who would know that?

Only God knows the real *you*.

Christians should remind themselves continually that:

1. God created Man in His own image and likeness, which means that all of us should resemble God in our true selves -- if we do what God has commanded.

2. God intends for His children to be recreated -- regenerated and renewed -- into the image and likeness of Christ, who is the express image of God.  We must therefore resemble Christ in eternity.

3. God has given us His Holy Spirit in order to transform us while on earth, and Christ will ultimately perfect us at His coming for His saints. "We shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is".

4. Our spirits are our authentic selves, and when our spirits, souls, and bodies have been perfected, that is when our true authentic selves will appear.

5. Since the old Adamic nature has not been eradicated, we do not consistently act and think according to who we really are -- according to our spirits.  The flesh (self) frequently takes over.

6. That is why we are told to walk in the Spirit, which means to walk in love -- love of God and love of others, including our enemies.  And it is God which worketh in you, both to will and to do of His good pleasure". We can only love others with the love of God,  and by His power.

These are all things which happened to you, and can happen to others, a new life in Christ. But who is "I" ?

Do you have a specific identity or are you just what we see in this world? Or is it both?

This "new creature in Christ" where did it start and where does it end, and what part of this life has anything to do with it?

Are you serious?  I am Willa;  It is part of what happened to me starting when I was about 12 and entering the 7th grade when God showed me that He is real, aware of me, and heard my prayers.  When I entered the 8th grade God showed me sins and I asked Him to forgive me.  I bought my own new testament after the 8th grade and read it all, but had difficulty loving others.  Entering the 10th grade I was baptized. So what I stated is how I felt and it was the struggles I had.   I did not fully surrender to God until 1970.  Some of us are slow learners; I had to unlearn misunderstandings and false teachings which kept drawing me back under.  I did not understand till 1970 that I can't love as I should in my own power.  I have to rely on the Spirit of Christ to do it through me.  And I had to be humbled and desperate for all this to happen.

Some people have immediate transformation of their lives.  Some people take months and some like me take years.  We can only be changed to the extent that we submit our lives to God and His Word.  It helps to have a small group or a person to teach us and pray for us.   But a new changed life in Christ is offered to anyone who wants to be forgiven and is sick of their lives, who is willing to turn to God for forgiveness, and to learn about all that Jesus has done for us and how much God loves us.  But while God is changing me to let His Spirit be seen in me, I won't ever be perfect in this life.  When I go to heaven Jesus will make me perfect.

Kan, I am nothing but my authentic self, and I tend to be a very transparent great grandmother even though I use my grandmother's name here.

Rusty, you have to think like a poet to understand Stephen when he is serious.  His flip side is found on the new animal thread or the derailing thread.  I always did maintain that he has a duel personality.  Both are the real enoob, and I enjoy both equally.  It sort of makes you want to pat him on his coon skin hat.:D

So a child was born called bopeep, what did it have that still exists today, we are talking about character...

or is nothing left of who you were born?

A totally different person today?

So you believe your behaviours and thinking have changed dramatically, no doubt they have, but doesn't that happen with maturity, even with unbelievers?

A child is born in sin. We have to be born again to be saved. Yes, I am a totally different person than  when I was very young. And I will have a resurrected body when I go to my eternal home. No,an unbeliever may mature but if they do not ask Jesus Christ into their life they are just an unsaved sinner. They will do as they please when they please. They will demand total control of their life.

Now I am to reckon the 1st born Steven dead-
Ro 6:11
11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
KJV

Ro 6:2-4
2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
KJV

yet the war seems real enough within... -
Ro 7:14-25
14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.
17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
KJV

when death occurs for him (steven the first born one)
Life (the second born Steven) will be his (the first born steven) absence and the flow blown reality of Jesus before the second Steven in a dumbfounded awe.... :D
2 Co 5:8
8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
KJV
1 Jn 3:2
2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
KJV

Yes, the apostle says we are to consider ourselves dead to sin. And the struggle comes from growing into the image of Christ in character, the Holy Spirit will not allow us to rest on our haunches, when there are things to conquer.

What about the humanity that makes you who you are, does that disappear or is that preserved by the same Spirit?

What do I mean by that? Do you still tie your shoe laces up the same way as you are changed without knowing it? Or is the old self destroyed into a new identity?

Here we go, the answers are getting more specific.

Where does the infant with its own certain temperament end up in this calling of God?

The hermeneutic is straight forward... the last thing I would wish to worry about is me and what is to remain! When it is Christ Jesus that I am to gain in likeness

I don't doubt you are authentic.

What would be the difference in a Willa without the knowledge of Jesus, would she bake her scones differently? No, probably not, so there is a Willa which we know by the way she makes her scones. Is that the Willa God intended, or is that to be altered in this new life of Christianity?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
