Would He devote that sacred head For such a worm as I? Was it for crimes that I had done He groaned upon the tree? Amazing pity! grace unknown! And love beyond degree! Well might the sun in darkness hide And shut his glories in, When Christ, the mighty Maker died, For man the creature’s sin. Thus might I hide my blushing face While His dear cross appears, Dissolve my heart in thankfulness, And melt my eyes to tears. But drops of grief can ne’er repay The debt of love I owe: Here, Lord, I give myself away, ’Tis all that I can do. My wife had 2 miscarriages and we were attending Sunday service right after DNC procedure. You can imagine how it would have been. I think anyone who knows the background to this song would be able to understand my situation better. I generally don't cry a lot, but that day burst open!! The peace and comfort Holy Spirit brought to my soul through this song was overwhelming. When peace like a river, attendeth my way, When sorrows like sea billows roll; Whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to knowa It is well, it is well, with my soul. Moment where I said well of course it's all about Christ's blood, who else died for my sins? I do enjoy some contemporary music but the old hymns do my soul good... Dad played his favorite records'Pipe band',marches and then --THE GREAT FINALLY-----AMAZING GRACE!!! ?Thanks Dad-for the lovely memory? ??Amazing grace! how sweet the sound, That saved a wretch; like me!
