It has not been ignored, if you read the research you will find that it has been addressed extensively .  The American Institute of Physics has a great paper on it delving into the history deeply before addressing current concerns.  You might want to look it up and read it.

I do not think there is any question the climate is changing, the question is if it is off the previous warming/cooling pattern and if so why.  

But I do agree that there are two separate issues to look at, IS it happening and then WHAT to do about it if it is.  I haven't really found any of the answers from the government to be sufficient, in fact I am not even sure it should be "stopped" as it were, but instead used to our advantage if possible. 

Oh yeah, surely solar flares have measurable impact, so do volcanoes. they are somewhat difficult to factor in, as they are not that predictable. I do not think they are ignored, I just think that they can make for variation in model predeictions. Some times they will tend to negate predicition, other times they will tend to help fulfill them. We may, for example, someday have another Krakatoa like event, that that will certainly affect things.

OK, we agree that climate changes. but I do not think the question is off or on 'normal' patterns of not, personally. Before the ice age, it was warmer. Mankind did not have an effect, before or after that. The climate did it's thing, and we adapted as best we could. When polar caps enlarge do to global cooling and changes in preciptitation rates, people and animal, migrate south, even more true now, that we know thattoward the equator is warmer, and we no longer have to walk to get there. 

If I were in the ice age, I would have been saying: "We sure could use some global warming right about now!" That illustrates a point. If this present body of knoweldge on group of "climate expert", came into exitance that that persion in Earth's history, would they have been inducing panic, worrying about what will happen when the ice melts, and flooding occurs? I think they might have. However, it was that global warming, that led us to enjoy our planet as it is now. So, waht I want to know, is: Why do we think that if the planet rises a couple of degrees, that this is necesarily a bad thing?

Sure, we can make soe educated guesses, about flooded cities, outbreaks of tropical diseases, and other scenarios, but is it also possible, that places to cold for agriculture now, would become productive farm land, and other things we might think are good? I just do not know, and I am not convinced yet, that anyone does. Freankly, I do not think we are all that smart, or all that powerful a force on Earth yet. My overall take is that Global warming is predicted in scripture, but it is not about unwise environmental practices.

 10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up.

Seems to me we are fretting about the wrong things!

Recent research that came out this summer mentioned how the sun was entering a new phase never seen in our sun before but seen in other suns and that has caused climate changes. That is getting ignored by climate change folks.

Contrary to what you think, I have read real science stuff from various organizations you would consider real science.

Contrary to what you think, I have read real science stuff from various organizations you would consider real science. 

Since the research just came out this summer there has not been enough time for it to be verified.  A few scientist publishing something in the The Astrophysical Journal Letters does not mean all agree with their findings.  Seems a bit premature to say it has been ignored.

It was an emperor penguin and it was supposed to be a joke. In other words, if we see a penguin walking across the antarctic desert instead of the antarctic icepack, we would know global warming to be true.

 

Wasn't aware it had posed twice mega, and I don't recall deleting anything. Probably just as well, since the joke fell flat.

It wasn't that I didn't know that it was a joke, and I cannot say that it fell flat, I just wanted to know what you meant by it, since I could see it a couple of ways.

Bye the way, as the geeky side of me would point out, Antactica is already a desert, whether you define that as a place sparsely populated, or as a place of scant precipitation.

What scientists, exactly? According to the data, the sun has been getting dimmer on average over the past several decades, and yet Earth's temperature continues to climb. I don't think anyone is being "silenced" or anything -- it's just that you have to have a pretty compelling case if you're going to argue against a large scientific consensus.
