All Americans who pay taxes do. But, personally, we do because our children enjoy shows such as Sesame street and we love the science shows.

then when the government funding is stopped, we are going to have to give some ourselves if we want it to continue....  most people who benefit from it will just have to give or loose it....   i know a lot of people who watch but only one or two who donate.... 

 

NPR can just go away or sell commercials.   PBS might also start selling commercials to stay on the air.

True. I just hope there are enough people who are aware of what is going on to make a difference. And from what someone on this thread says, not everyone even knows what type of programming PBS offers.

The federal funding of PBS is less than 20% of thier budget...   I don't know about NPR    The Corporation of Public Broadcasting gets the federal funds and divides it up between all that they help fund.

what would kill it would be to remove it's tax exempt status for private donations.
