Well of course I do not know you personally or anything about you - so take this for what it's worth.

If you truly believe that 'America is racist' - what are you doing about it? Anything constructive?

If you live in America (USA) and if it's so terrible, perhaps you should move.

'Racist' is one of those terms that gets thrown around all too readily.  It is a card that is generally played to end debate - not encourage it.  You're new here (I can discern at least that about you).

Welcome - but if you are here to engage in fruitful discussions, then you might want to back off the inflammatory terms.

Blessings,

Perhaps you can call a spade a spade.

Also I'm not new here.  I was here for quite some time had my account deleted and left.  I decided to return.    I don't throw around racist readily either.  I am quite aware of when I use it and yes America is racist.  It has always been. I wont sugarcoat it for your feelings.

Unless you wish to take this discussion in a different direction, this will be my last response to you.

You're saying 'America is racist' is about as intellectually deep as one of the placards at the UC Berkeley riots.  I suspect you're more intelligent that that but again, I do not know you personally.

I claim Christ as my Savior.  My understanding of the meaning of that is that while I'll never be perfect (as He was perfect and sinless), I can strive toward that end.  The desire to BE Christ-like is what motivates me to do many of the things I do.

Of course when I encounter a person of a different race I likely will notice that.  Is that racist to you? Noticing someone's race?

Acting on it would be a different matter.  My intention is always to treat someone as a fellow human being first.  If that someone claims Christ (as I do) they are in addition a brother or a sister.

Next month I will celebrate my 64th birthday.  On other threads I've shared my experience growing up - moving from PA to NC as a child and seeing the racism that existed there. (1961-63).  Segregated bathrooms.  Water-fountains. Schools.

Are you saying we've made NO progress since those days?

Will be ever be perfect?  No - of course not.  You never answered my query to you about other nations that might not be 'racist' in your eyes.  Probably because you cannot name one because there is not one.

Perfection will only come when the Lord returns and establishes His kingdom.  But until then, we abide.  We do the best we can.

So like I said, this is all I have on the topic of 'America is racist.'

If you wish to take it in a different direction, go for it.

Blessings,

-Ed

Its not meant to be deep.  It also has nothing to do with intellect, unless you are just not willing to accept the premise.  Attempting to tie this phrase to intellect is par for the course though.  Yes, I'm intelligent.  I will say it again.  America is racist.  The fact that a statement as bold as " Obama has now made it hard for Black Americans to be president only serves proof of an already dirty mirror.   May be you should address that comment, or maybe you can deal with the fact America is racist.  Again history proves my statement.  As far as your age...congrats.  Maybe you should actually be more aware of this country and the dirt that is loves to sweep under the rug. No my friend, America will not get a pass for its racism.  also that's fine if you want to pull out of the conversation, maybe you should have thought about it before you decided to hang onto my phrase. Now if you want to deal with why black folks will now have such a hard time becoming president because of Obama, then please help me understand why that same statement does not apply to whites.  When we have had 44 white presidents.  You want to go a different direction I'm giving you the direction...its up to you to take it.

Let me add that yes, we have made progress, but progress does not mean a thing was eliminated.  We have only move passed certain overt transgressions.

American isn't racist.  A two-term black president proves that this is not a racist country.

The fact that a statement as bold as " Obama has now made it hard for Black Americans to be president only serves proof of an already dirty mirror.

Obama HAS made it harder for a black American to be president given how racially divisive he was.   For eight years America was held hostage by the notion that any disagreement with the president's policies was racism.   The Congress was afraid to oppose him because of the potential of being labeled racism.   The Left discovered that the "racist" card was a potent, all-purpose weapon to shut down conversations and bully people into silence.

When we get another black president, are we going to be called racist for any disagreement or criticism of his policies?  The possibility that we will get another thin-skinned, narcissist like Obama, who will be just as incompetent and just as reckless is something we have to consider.

May be you should address that comment, or maybe you can deal with the fact America is racist.  Again history proves my statement.

History for the last 30 years DISPROVES that statement.

Racism is not a one-way street.  The Black Lives Matter movement is a virulently racists, Marxist/Communist organization.

There is pockets of racism in the US, but we are not "racist" country and the plethora of actors, businessmen, doctors, athletes, inventors who are black, Asian, Hispanic, etc., prove that we are country of opportunity for those willing to work for it.

Again your bias is showing, but forget that I want to deal with your last statement.

I swear this is a grossly stupid statement and undertones are telling.  But thank you for just stating what has been known for so long. America is racist.

Ruck was removed from the thread and will be issued a warning point for the above statement.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
