Today, like in the ancient times, the Book of Enoch promises eye opening knowledge about prediluvian civilizations, cosmology, giants, angels, creation and biblical patriarchs. What often attracts people to the Book of Enoch is the belief that there are gaps of missing information that the bible cannot answer. However, many don’t realize just how much the Book of Enoch actually contradicts the scriptures and introduces the reader to ancient pagan teachings masked as biblical teaching. This is probably the reason the Book of Enoch has always been loved and held in high regard with New Agers, Luciferians and other occultists even to this day.

Amen!

The canon is ample.

As far as "The Book of Enoch" or any other "inspired" book that is not in the Bible goes: if the Lord wanted them as part of Scripture, He would have made sure of it.

And people accuse the Pope of being infallible.

If the devil wanted to keep them out, he probably succeeded.

God does not save us from all of our own mistakes, or even the mistakes by leaders in various denominations or the Roman Catholic Church.  They will be judged more harshly for it.

other one

I have "The Book of Enoch" (containing 5 sections /108 chapters) H.R. Charles Oxford:

and

"The Secrets of Enoch" (containing 68 chapters) From "The Forgotten books of Eden" by Rutherford H. Platt, Jr., [1926]

They both harmonise, and do not contradict.  They both speak about Jesus, his coming, salvation of the saints, hell, creation, and a deep insight into the world of the fallen angels, and their hybrids which matches with Genesis 6.

So which book is 1Enoch?

Also Enoch wrote 366 books.  I don't know how many chapters make a book, or if each different topic and vision is considered a book?

So it appears there are books missing.

Are the books I mentioned above the only ones available?

3 He wrote all these signs of all creation, which the Lord created, and wrote three hundred and sixty-six books, and handed them over to his sons and remained on earth thirty days, and was again taken up to heaven on the sixth day of the month Tsivan, on the very day and hour when he was born.

The Secrets of Enoch, Ch LXVIII.

Many books weren't accepted in the bible because of some very petty reasons.  Enoch

There is truth in the Book of Enoch that both the Jews and early Christians recognized.  For some reason, when the political arm of the church wanted to keep these books out of the Canon, they were excluded.  Why?  I can only speculate.

There have been many, many threads on Worthy about the extrabiblical books of Enoch and Jasher.  These books  were excluded for a reason.  If God had wanted them included, He would have made sure they were.  They are useful for study and comparison but they are NOT scripture and believers should not read them as Scripture.

No, but I believe He will not allow His Word to be entirely corrupted without a "clean" copy available. God isn't so feeble that our mistakes will derail his plans.

By the number of fragments we have, we can get to a Bible translation that's very close to the original.  The original autographs are truly God's word and perfect.  We only have fragments to back to the original.  It has been shown time and again that the fragments contain copying errors.  Man is not perfect.  If we didn't treat the Bible as the worthy object it is, it is our fault, not God's.

I look at a book like the Apocalypse of Ezra more as a commentary, giving explanatory text to give us the full meaning of what's written.  I am not arguing for the expansion of the Canon.  But I fail to see any reason for coming down on Christians who are searching for the pearls of wisdom hidden that can be found in these books.  This does not include the pseudo-Apocrypha.

the english translation of the one that is in the Ethiopian Bible.  it is known to most people as 1Enoch.     2Enoch is a partial translation from Slavic sources and is incomplete and a little different.    3Enoch is a Jewish Kabbalistic thing that is most likely from the Dark Side.....

1Enoch has a lot of different fragments from different copies in the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Ok thanks.

I can't find a way to view the ethiopian bible online, and see how Enoch is written there and divided up, so I'm guessing 1 Enoch must be the section 1 part, and 3Enoch the section 3 part that is regarded as a Jewish Kabbalistic thing?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
