The more you learn, if YHWH permits, about this country, its origins, and its purposes/motives/ reality,

the less patriotic you will be ,

if you have chosen to serve Jesus and follow Him.

In the meantime we live (and should appreciate living) under a secular government.  The Founders - purposely - set it up that way.  And I happen to wholeheartedly agree with it.

So then,  if you went to live in Athens (where Paul preached the Gospel they hated),  you would leave all the idolatry there, of the many different religions,  as they were, and "wholeheartedly agree (with Athens government)" ! ?

As has been argued on this board, only actual practicing Muslims can determine what true Islam is.  So to the extent they want to live side-by-side, peacefully with non-Muslims, it is up to them to determine that.  They will need to address the problems in their congregations that prevent them from doing so.

They will need to understand they cannot impose sharia.  If they cannot understand that, then it will be up to the rest of us as to how to respond.

And we had better do so sooner rather than later - while non-Muslims are still in the majority.

Blessings,

That is simply not true.  It is just something they use to hide behind.  They used to tell me similar things of not understanding Sharia law if you don't understand Aribic.....   then I find "Reliance of the Traveller" which is a certified translation into English.  If you study and believe the teachings of the books of Islam, your primary goal in life would be to submit the whole world to Sharia....

You don't have to take my word for it, you can read for yourself...  But I would ask that until you do real their books that you don't tell me what Islam is, or that I can't know.

Islam isn't like Christanity, it does not give an active relationship with Allah...  all you have is the Koran and the quotes of Mohammad as written by his closest friends...  And it is condensed into a 1200 page book of laws that covers just about every aspect of life.....   even to the direction to face when you go to the bathroom.

You're missing an important point.

While no secular government is perfect (since by definition it is secular, so it is imperfect in the Kingdom of God sense), some secular governments are better than others.

Would you not say that the government of - say - Britain is better than the government of N. Korea?  Or that the government of the US is better than the government of the former USSR?

My saying that does not imply there are not imperfections in even the good governments, it's just recognizing what should be apparent - some are better than others.

I'm not all that well versed on Ancient Athens, but I believe it was a democracy with a state religion.  That makes it inferior (in my opinion) to our Constitutional Republic with NO state religion (and freedom for all to worship).

And St. Paul himself didn't tear down the idols - in fact he used them (" . . . to an unknown god) to attempt to change hearts and minds. Physically removing the idols would have accomplished nothing.

Paul never confronted any secular authorities head on - but they were used to further God's plan ("I appeal to Caesar")

Blessings,

-Ed

I said "as has been argued on this board" in an attempt to be charitable on not quibble on that point.

I should have instead been more clear and said "I do not agree, but it has been argued on this board . . . ")

Hope that clarifies.

Yes, in Southfield, MI at noon today.  This all started over an incident in Detroit where a doctor mutilated two young girls, he is facing criminal charges.  The city of Dearborn has wrongfully been linked to this incident because of its large population of Arab-Americans, but the actual group behind the move to enact Sharia law in this state stems from Hamtramck.  An area that was once known for its high population of Polish immigrants that has now shifted to an Arabic area and is touted as the first american city to contain a majority of Muslims on the city council.

I was in Hamtramck a few years ago and it was an appalling sprawl of decay.  I didn't see many muslims but I might have missed them because I was staring at the rundown, dirty streets and boarded up buildings.  So it has a majority arab population now?

Hamtramck is an absolute mess, and yes the social dynamic has drastically changed there in my lifetime.  There is still a large contingency of Polish Americans there, but they are in the minority now, it has become an Arabic stronghold which reflects a different attitude than those who live in Dearborn.  They are behind this move for Sharia law, which became clear following the incident here where the doctor genitally mutilated two young girls in Detroit.  Having been to Hamtramck you are familiar with its proximity to Detroit I assume.

The rally today in Southfield went as expected, not as good of a turnout as was hoped for, and those who showed up to protest our march outnumbered us.  The irony is that they spat at us, threw things at us, and accused us of hatred while they were of course the only people displaying hatred and intolerance for freedom.  From what I hear it was much worse in Lansing, but to this point there is absolutely no coverage on the matter, as if it never happened, go figure.

As we see in the news, and right here on this forum, the Left doesn't want any criticism of islam and they actively try to support the barbarians wanting Sha'ria law in the U.S.  Anyone who supports this cause should be charged with sedition because that's exactly what trying to undermine our Constitution is.

Agreed, but I don't think we have enough prison space to put them all in.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
