Does anyone remember the song what if God was one of us ? I love that song so much. For some reason I feel like God is sitting right next to me when I listen to it. The part where it says what if he was sitting on a bus making his way home. Then I thought of Jesus making his way to Lazarus and Martha and Mary's home. Sitting with them. What if Jesus was one of us making his way home to us ? I think he does everyday.  It brings tears to my eyes to think of him making his way to us. He has a face that i think would show his expectation while he is making his way home to us. I can just see him. He would not look like somebody so high and mighty but like someone who was one of us just like the song. Now people he is of course high and mighty. But he is also lowly and meek and kind. I can prove that,he wants to be with me Wayne. He has to be lowly then lol. But Jesus is a friend. If we have no friends we do have one friend who makes his way to us. I do have some friends but i know if i was alone without friends my true friend who cares for me as I am. He sees my faults and my pitiful selfishness. He just keeps trying to awaking me to be like him. The part of the song yes yes God is great yes yes God is good is singing so true of God. I do love this song.  I know it's not really a Christian song but it surely expresses God's goodness.

Joan Osborne redid that song made it seem so satanic (in my opinion). I do not even like it since i saw her video of it.

Now we must reflect Jesus to all and stop being the bratty little kids.  Believe me, I have cared for street people and the indigent in the hospital. The odors did get to me of sick people and unbathed people.  But I had to see their need not just for sanitation but for nutrition and health, their pain and fatigue, illness, and sin.  All of these things Christ died for.  He bore our infirmities and our human condition.  And He has compassion.

Mar 2:17  ESV And when Jesus heard it, he said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.”

Well said Wills. My phone changes your a to s will not stop  lol. We need to think like Jesus. Thank you for being so good to the many persons you helped. He sees it.

I was in the proces of quoting the same verses when I saw your post. God with us...Emmanuel. Jesus had to become fully man else He could not be tempted in all things as we are, and understand our needs.

And he was and is and will always be PERFECT!  Jesus walked the earth a sinless man.  Fully man fully God!  He is NOTHING LIKE US.

That is why the song is so offensive !!  This is exactly the kind of thing that brings God down to  lesser in peoples depraved minds. The song is veiled in massive deception. It is not agreeing with  Gods character but it has lessened him to being like us.  He certainly isnt  "one of us" . We are not righteous on our own. We are a wicked people. We are helpless w/o the LORD! We are perishing for denying the LORD.

God is the Alpha and the Omega the creator of all things great and small. God is Majesty! God is Sovereign!  God is and always has been and always will be GOD . God has the power to destroy both the body and the soul. Last I checked, I bow to him and not the other way around.

God is only IN US  and certainly not one of us.   God is not in everyone. He has given us his word to deem who is his and who isnt and how to  get there!

Another reason the song makes my stomach turn: The pope is last person the LORD is going to fellowship with! He will judge him straight to hell because he  is the picture of everything that opposes Christ! The pope sits at the top of a faith that is  filth and lucre! He is the  choir boy for the synagogue of Satan.

You do not understand scripture well.

It is written, he humbled himself.

Although it is impossible for our finite minds to understand, Jesus was absolutely fully human, and will remain so throughout all eternity. The sacrifice the Son of God made was greater than dying...whatever form He had pre-incarnation (likely spirit form as His Fater is spirit) Jesus laid aside in order identify zHimself forever with the human race He redeemed.

Luke 24:39
‭Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.‭

Sure, He now has a glorified body, but it is still and will always be human.

But He is also fully and truly God.   He did not lay aside His deity when He came to earth.   He temporarily emptied Himself of divine prerogatives as God, but those prerogatives were restored after His resurrection.   He will always be fully man and fully and truly  God.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
