Where do you draw the line  on unity

Where do  you say  enough is enough

Where do you stop giving in  and start standing on the Word

Where do  you  stop the boiling down of the Gospel  for the sake of unity  and start  calling sin sin  and sinners sinners

Is it just me or do we need  some TRUTH teaching and preaching

Is it just me or do we need men of God to stand up and say  "Enough - get back to the Bible"

Is it just me or do  we start saying  Unity at the cost of  Doctrine is not biblical and I refuse to compromise the Word of God

My love of the Lord  and His Word  can not be compromised  Can You compromise  and still feel  you are in God;s will ??????

Just me thinking out loud  I guess but would like input  here

When I read this my heart leaped and I said AMEN AMEN and AMEN!!!

I'm tired of the Professions, tracks, and sinners prayers, I want to see lives being lived, crosses being bourn, and men and women who shudder at the name of the Most High God and Fear in such a way that makes them shudder like the demons, causing men to turn from sin and look to Christ as those bitten by snakes in the OT looked on the snake in desperation, and hope of life.

I hope soon, that we see the Luther's, Zwingli's, Huss', Calvins, Wycliffes, Warfields, and Spurgeons who will stand before the world and say ENOUGH!!

You have said it rightly, well said :whistling:

I belong to a church that is part of a large non-denominational unity movement and one of our slogans is:

In essentials - unity

In non-essentials - liberty

In everything - charity

In reply to the original post. Yea, there seems to be a ton of lukewarm christianity out there. I don't think most people and churches even realize that that is where they are at! Whole lotta "feel good" churches and sermons out there. If people aren't reading the Word for themselves and seeking God for themselves they just follow the crowd and think that is good enough. There are many preachers who are going to answer to God for the lack of their preaching of the Word. It's not about feeling good all the time and making others feel good all the time. I don't need 25 replies telling me we need to be kind. I know there is a balance.

I knew a guy (in his 30s) who said he was a Christian and had been going to church since he was a kid. He did not know that sex outside of marriage is wrong!!! How did he miss this if he'd been in church all his life!! I lost pretty much all respect for his spiritual opinions at that point. I guess the preacher never said it and he never figured it out from reading the Bible. I don't know.

Key word: Religion.

This poor fellow wasn't saved, and probably never heard enough real gospel to have gotten saved, and because almost nobody is actually preaching salvation, much less sanctification. They are all preaching, "Money Cometh". God the Holy Spirit has been reduced, at least in the eyes of self-styled Christians, to be a bag boy to bring men their "Stuff".

People are taught that if they throw enough money in the offering plate, that God will show up and do whatever they want. It doesn't work like that. In fact, this is actually witchcraft. I hate to say it, but it is. It constitutes men trying to buy the things of God; nay, in some cases they only want God for the sake of getting their stuff, to which Peter rebuked Simon the Sorcerer(Acts. 8:9) and later wrote:

1 Pet. 1:18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.

Not only is this church filled iwth the Laodecean attitude, but worse, the modern church as a whole, not just the bad ones, but even teh "Godly" ones, have the worst elements of nearly all seven of the churches in Revelation. The church is drowning in "Religious" works on the one hand (show up x times a week, pay tithe, join commitees, coach a team, mow the pastor's lawn, etc,) and on the other hand they think its ok to lie, cheat, steal, commit adultery, curse, watch porn, read high fantasy novels and other occult games and books, etc. The church has called good evil and evil good, and regrettably I have been guilty of it too, Lord forgive me.

If I spent as much time witnessing as I do on the boards I could probably become prideful in my works

When Dobson of Focus on the Family said it was ok for kids to read the Harry Potter books and see the movies I lost all respect for him but he is like most others there is no balck and white any more..................

There is no more sin being preacherd at one time if you were an adulterus (sp) you were kicked out of the church until you repented now you get an exercisim of the devil and go right on it was not your fault the devil made you do it...

We have no fear of the Lord We have no fear of Hell We have no frear of sin

Sad but it will get worse

On the other side of this story, there are a lot of people who call things sin that are really not sin and it gets everything in a state of confusion. This is part of the problem in my opinion. One church says any alcohol consumption or even working in a store that sells it is a sin, while another says it's a sin to go to any movies, ane another says it's a sin to wear a dress that shows your ankels and where does it stop.

I personally have just quit going to church largely because of this problem. When I bring up scripture that is being either overstressed or totally overlooked people don't want you around. I've even been asked not to ask questions in a sunday school class or two.

Religon is the problem to me, and that is where I draw the line. If it is not from the word and if it is not kept simple I just don't deal with it, for as some of you have said, they just don't want to hear about it.

I sent the Billy Graham organisation an email concerning things I heard about him and freemasonry and they never replied.

You would think on these type of issues they would at least try to cover it up.

I guess I'm going to have to think this one through. I am finding myself lately questioning a number of things I do. Before if someone had said that what I was doing was against my "?religion?" I would have brushed them off with, "Hey, I know the difference, I don't take any of this seriously."

I found myself feeling rather "superior" wrong use of words, but I can't quite come up with the right one, at something Gerioke said on the boards yesterday. That was until I logged off and it stayed with me and it stayed with me and I finally shut off everything else and examined it and went, Wow, he is so right, then I felt bad. Sorry Gerioke, and thanks for the mental cleansing!

We all know that in the last days people will follow after those that tell them what their itching ears want to hear, I'm sure it started at the time of the Apostles and continues to this day.

Preachers on TV, I really don't listen to them very much, because of the lifestyles they seem to lead, I just don't trust them very much. Our Lord said the birds of the air had nest and the foxes have holes but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head. So preachers with expensive clothes and million dollar shows kinda offend me. Their message that God will give you "money, money, money" has very little to do with the message Jesus preached, at least to me.

We are the ones that have to, with love, tell the whole message of Jesus love and the right and true ways to enter into heaven. After all, we were all given that command before he returned to heaven.

I'm not saying be complacsent (sp ?) about any of the things you mentioned, but we were told that these things would happen. We can only fight one day at a time, every way we can to show people that God isn't about houses and cars and getting that promotion. Its about leading people to the Lord, thats our job.

I'm sorry if this doesn't really fit this thread but its what came to mind as I was reading this.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
