Job 28:28--And unto man he said, Behold the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from "evil" is understanding. Deuteronomy 4:4-8--But ye that did cleave unto the Lord your God are alive every one of you this day. vs 5) Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the Lord my God commanded me, that you should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it. vs 6) Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a "wise" and "understanding" people. vs 7) For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the Lord our God is in all things that we call unto him for? vs 8) And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?.................. I was thinking as I read this that our problems as His people and as a country is because we do not fear Him.. I was asking Him how do we begin to come back to fearing Him.. I remembered this scripture.. "get wisdom" Pro 4:5 Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. Pro 4:6 Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee. Pro 4:7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. Pro 4:8 Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her. Pro 4:9 She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee. Pro 4:10 Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many. Pro 4:11 I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths. Pro 4:12 When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble. Pro 4:13 Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life. Pro 17:16 Wherefore is there a price in the hand of a fool to get wisdom, seeing he hath no heart to it? We must have a heart for it.. we must fear the Lord in our hearts first and foremost and then we can obtain wisdom... God help us to grow and learn and walk in His perfect ways... There is no want to those who fear Him. Psalm 128 1 Blessed are all who fear the Lord, who walk in his ways. 2 You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours. 3 Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your sons will be like olive shoots around your table. 4 Thus is the man blessed who fears the Lord. "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever." (Psalms 111:10).
