Song of Solomon 1:12
While the king is at his table,
My spikenard sends forth its fragrance.

John 12:3
Then Mary took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil.

Judges 16:5
And the lords of the Philistines came up to her and said to her, “Seduce him, and see where his great strength lies, and by what means we may overpower him, that we may bind him to humble him. And we will each give you 1,100 pieces of silver.”
So Delilah said to Samson, “Tell me the secret of your great strength and how you can be tied up and subdued.”

She would ask him 3 times and I thought to myself despite what we were shown in Sunday school comic books if Samson was this huge steroid  pumped up Arnold  Schwarzenegger looking man like we picture…. Delilah wouldn’t have to ask “ how are you so strong?”

I think he looked no different than you or me, God all through the Bible used the least expected to carry out his will :: Barren women, Moses, even the disciples were a group of misfits picked out so people wouldn’t say ‘ oh that’s just talented people’ , he clearly wanted people to know “ this is Gods work at hand”

So I think Samson would actually look just like us,. And like Samson God can use us to do great things to imbue us with the strength when we need it

People sometimes are afraid to ask God for things “ it’s too big” , “ I don’t want to bother him with this huge burden”

IS ANYTHING TOO BIG FOR GOD?

Its true that Samson did more in his last 5 minutes than he did his whole life , But when he needed it God gave him that strength he asked for?

and he will do that for us also

Here is a poem about the little boy that held Samson’s hand it touched me ?

They gouged his eyes,
At first I could not bear to look,
Empty and raw and cruel,
I would not look,
The shock of emptiness knowing he would not see.

I watched the shaven head bowed low,
Rocking with the rhythm of the grindstone,
Round, round, round.

I watched the needless shackles,
Heavy and hard,
Biting the flesh,
That needs no binding.

Now,
It does not matter,
That his eyes are gone,
I am his eyes,
He sees through me,
He has to see through me,
There is no other way.
I have wept the tears he cannot weep,
For all those careless years
And I have learned to love this broken man
While he has learned, at last,
To fear his God.

So,
I am not afraid to die,
Happy to be his eyes,
This one last time,
Taking his hand,
Leading with practised care,
Step by guided step,
Into the place where he can pray:
‘Oh Lord, oh sovereign Lord’,
And as the pillars fall,
I cry,
Amen.

Ask him for strength and he will give it

Exodus 33:17-20
And the Lord said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name. And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory. And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy. And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.

2 Corinthians 3:18
But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Judges 1:6

Adoni-Bezek fled, but they chased him and caught him, and cut off his thumbs and big toes.

weird way to treat a king? , Joshua was dead, there won’t be another ruler for 400 years until Saul.. there will be 13 judges ,but until then they are making decisions from 2 stones the high priest uses to communicate with God. (the Urim and the Thummim), and God has made the decision that Judah will lead the battle against the cannanites so they mutilate this king because now he can never hold a sword or run away.

But the king says

” “Seventy kings with their thumbs and big toes cut off have picked up scraps under my table. Now God has paid me back

man reaps what he sows.

I like the verse of the king Bezek because he knows, he knows this is his ‘justice’, And this verse about reaping and sowing is often used in a negative way,. Let’s not forget Brothers and Sisters the verse after

Galatians 6:8

Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life

Some people forget that last part, we can sow for good and reap rewards instead of punishment

( im sure the king would have preferred that to losing his thumbs and toes he had done that to he says 70 people I don’t think he got what he deserved.)

So let’s sow some love ❤️ let’s sow some forgiveness ? and reap our rewards!

Who is this coming out of the wilderness
Like pillars of smoke,
Perfumed with myrrh and frankincense,
With all the merchant’s fragrant powders?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
