John 15:12-17 (MKJV)

12 This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
13 No one has greater love than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
14 You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.
15 No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master does. But I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you.
16 You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you and ordained you that you should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain; that whatever you shall ask of the Father in My name, He may give it to you.
17 These things I command you, that you love one another.

And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways; To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins, Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us, Luke 1: 76-78

(Hebrews 2:10)  For it was fitting that he, for whom and by whom all things exist, in bringing many sons to glory, should make the founder of their salvation perfect through suffering.
(Hebrews 2:11)  For he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified all have one source. That is why he is not ashamed to call them brothers,
(Hebrews 2:12)  saying, “I will tell of your name to my brothers; in the midst of the congregation I will sing your praise.”
(Hebrews 2:13)  And again, “I will put my trust in him.” And again, “Behold, I and the children God has given me.”
(Hebrews 2:14)  Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil,
(Hebrews 2:15)  and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery.  [ESV]

(Hebrews 2:16)  For surely it is not angels that he helps, but he helps the offspring of Abraham.
(Hebrews 2:17)  Therefore he had to be made like his brothers in every respect, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.
(Hebrews 2:18)  For because he himself has suffered when tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.  [ESV]

Hello SObG,

I am wondering why he does not say more about the Grace of God in Jesus Christ in the way Paul talks about that includes the forgiveness of sins freely without bringing any gifts to God or making any promises to him of any kind which results in being in the righteousness of God because Jesus Christ is in the righteousness of God.

He did say that those in Jesus Christ are free from the fear of death.

Does that have anything to do with the physical death?

People being afraid to die because of many and various reasons.

Or he wants to emphasize that the believers in Jesus Christ are in their own righteousness and at the same time are also clothed in the righteousness of God in Jesus Christ.

A believer in Jesus Christ standing in his own righteousness he may have something to fear looking forwards to that time, but if he has come to understand that he also stands in the righteousness of God in Jesus Christ that should take away the fear at the time of death.

And the fear that death can come to him because he stands in the righteousness of Jesus Christ.

In other word death can only come to him as long as he stands in faith in Jesus Christ.

The only way death can come to him is if death can come first to Jesus Christ and then he is caught in the domino effect.

Which can never happen.

Hi.  This book may or may not be written by Paul.  At the very least, it's probably written by a fellow traveler with Paul, imho.  So Paul's other writings are being copied and passed from church to church.  One book might not contain all his thoughts.

If you know where you are going after death, that you who are in Christ Jesus, will reign with Him after death.  I don't see an easy transition to physical death here.

The Christians who died in the Colosseum, probably took comfort knowing they'd be with Jesus after they shed this mortal clothing.

I'm not sure what you mean here.  Jesus taught to be faithful to the end.  :39:

I cannot understand what you want to say with that statement after the statement you made just before this statement.

I understand that we believe now and tomorrow but the most important moment is to be found in the faith of Jesus Christ with our last breath.

The other comment I made it was to saw that as Jesus Christ is position so are we.

He is righteous and so is for us, because we are in his righteousness.

God bless

12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;

13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.

14 Do all things without complaining and disputing,

15 that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,

16 holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.

Most Christians tell me I have to fear the Lord.....    The Lord that sat aside being God to come here as a man and die for me so I could interface with the Father and be with them for eternity....   How can I fear him...     What does that mean.

Quote

Prov 8:13
13  The fear of the Lord is hatred of evil.
Pride and arrogance and the way of evil
and perverted speech I hate.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
