And as to languages, I don't see that speaking English is an answer to a problem of poverty and desperation. Language barriers have been with us for quite some time- since Babylon was broken up  by God I guess.

Even English speaking lands have trouble agreeing on  English language. The New Amsterdam  maritime convention is testimony to the problems of even a common language in contracts.

Seems to me that it is more than the irritation of hearing Korean jibber jabber in the grocery store that needs be resolved.  If all the immigrants spoke pristine American English ( If that even exists ) there would still be the same problem of desperate American English speaking people rushing toward the borders and seeking to get to the interior of the USA.

Ha- If all  immigrants spoke pristine American English, then they would be at WalMart making fun of my Bostonesse accent and I suppose my  clothing attire too.

Illegal is illegal, and they are here legally or not legally and I don't see anything in between.  I personally can't see the problem without involving politics because the whole problem is a global political move to achieve a global status that a group of global progressives are attempting to achieve.

Poverty and desperation????....      I don't see news reports of a people starving coming here, but healthy looking males and females that are a bit overweight.....   and some carrying little children in buggies/carriages that cost between three and five hundred dollars that my relatives can't afford.  I am told that many of those people paid the cartel five to ten thousand dollars each to bring them to the border...

Okay, But is that reality- aren't there legal illegals? I can be in the USA legally having gotten here illegally it seems. I just ask for asylum and i am no longer illegal, but instead a refugee in titled to a hearing and I can stay here legally awaiting that hearing, no matter how longit takes ot get th ehearing. Ye  I know people then do not show up, but non th eless they are not illegal until a ruling against them in a court, and by then they may avail themself of a few options to extend their legal status.

It is all nutty for sure.  In the meantime there are hungry people desperate people on the move. Do I say Lord,  they shouldn't come to me?

It is an involved process to become a citizen in the US, but it should be the primary goal of those making full intent of living here permanently.

I've seen many who have, and made fine upstanding examples.

I'll stand by this, and let me add, whether by legal or illicit means of coming to this country, those who have and also made Jesus as Saviour and Lord, are some of the sweetest and truly sincere folks I've encountered. There are numbered among them, plenty who've run away from cartel life-style - women and their children. These are the ones who are innocent of the criminal element, and seeking asylum here within our nation's borders.

I see the same images, and I wonder too! But I also see impoverished people in the USA that look pretty portly even very porky. Their diets being very low cost starchy stuff I think.

We have a few individuals that post on the board that are in very serious poverty from around the world. I always wonder, how do they get  on the internet, how do they have the free time even.? None of which is production for me. There is still a lot of people in desperate living conditions and they are on the move. My government has no desire to  find a solution. So what of me? What of my local body of Christ? What might my Lord desire of  me and of the local body? I am conflicted about it for sure.

Do you know who the ruler of this world is? The media? I live in a Country where the media has been to blame for a lot of the hatred people experience...if you seek God in the matter you might find that Jesus loves everyone and if people are fleeing out of fear of death I believe only hard hearted people would turn them away...but that's my opinion...I work in a school where there about 15 children from Syria who have experienced devestation and had to leave their Country in fear...I pray you or anyone elaw with your opinion never has to run for refuge in another land because you might just get turned away

This is true, Diane. In the latter 70's through early 80's, we had countless from South East Asia, fleeing from the on-coming dominance of communist invasion. Many among these have also become born again believers. In our city, is an older Baptist church where they've established learning centers, in order to learn our language and also customs, while preparing to become citizens here in this 'melting-pot' nation.

Well, the town I live in has the reputation of being one of the best places to be homeless.   We have a fairly good infrastructure of taking care of them....    we have a good dinner on Wednesday nights before service and we have them come by to eat with us..    Problem is that word gets around and more and more start showing up from other places and overloads our system and everyone suffers...    theories about helping the poor sound good on the surface, but in reality isn't really possible with the numbers that are coming here....

I find it hard to declare someone destitute when they have paid someone to bring their family to the border $5,000 to $10,000 each.   or paid some mother to borrow her child so they can be released into the country because of the 20 day rule for keeping children....   then send the child back to its mother to be rented again....

Nothing about what is going on at the border is as it seems on the surface, so it's hard for me to get into your discussion and leave out politics.    I guess it depends on whether one watches either CNN or OAN news for the status of the problem.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
