Most of the crosses I see people wearing are on rap stars.

Gee I don't see Rap stars at all. I do see lots of fellow saints in Christ Jesus. My pastor has a large cross tattoo and several passages  tattooed upon his frame. I don't think it likely a good look for me, but it fits him well.  Still I do kinda want the one tattoo, but where to put it on an old man's frame. Between being hairy, and hoary with the start of wrinkles, it may not be the look for me. Ha a new patch on an old skin so to speak- might burst open and leak out all my wine.

Think I'll just carry my big red leather covered KJV pulpit size Bible around instead.

Seriously though-What individuals choose to use to express themself, and especially to share of our Lord Jesus and His saving gospel, I'm good with it, God bless 'em in their travels.

I didn't take it personally.  I just disagree with the premise of faithful Christians wearing jewelry of faith as being pharisaical.

What is written in the Creator's Word about phylacteries ?   Did anyone honest wear them also,  not just hypocrites ?

What is written in the Creator's Word about jewelry ?   Why did the early "believers" eschew jewelry ?

When does a "believer" become alive, a faithful member in the body of Christ ? (not all believers are Christian even, as written)

Do they become a 'better' "believer" by wearing jewelry,  considering ONLY what the Creator's Word Says about this ?

Or do they become associated with , well,  other goals ,  not so pure ?

I have been bowling on a league (but not right now though) anyway there is a man there who bowls with his sister, and brother and father (father is 85?) anyway I rarely see a man where a cross where I live in my area.  I said something to him like "I like your cross" but he did not say much (he is very quiet type).

I may have said more I don't remember but it impressed me that he wore it as it is a statement!

Perhaps neither, or none of the above.

Perhaps a billion hypocrites on earth , maybe 3 billion or more,  "wore it as it is a statement!"....

and they drag others down daily with themselves,

as written in Scripture.

Perhaps a few million are not hypocrites,  whether they "wore it as it is a statement" or not .....

To be able to see the difference,   requires testing,   in truth,  as written.

As written,  many many more "wore it as it is a statement" to trick others (at least into believing the wearer is somehow good or saved or part of a good group, so-called) ,

than honestly show what is truth abiding with them.

i.e. according to all the Bible, and history, a lot more people seek to trick us,  than to tell us (or anyone) the truth.

I guess the guy or gal that wears a giant metal cross as jewelry is  a little more practical in sharing of their joy and faith than are the few that get all carried away at Passover/ Easter  and have themselves nailed to a tree, as some Pacific rim islanders tend to do.

The Gospel of Jesus for Eternal Life is not 'practical' by earthly standards - it is foolishness.

I don't see those you mention sharing anything good with anyone,   only trying to impress others or doing it for "show".

Amen.

Not only not all,  but few ever lived the life, as Jesus says in the Bible.

How many "Churches" are known by unbelievers /neighbors/ co-workers in the city they are in as walking in the light ?

How many are known(without a word spoken, but by their totally changed lives) as "they were with God",  by people observing them ?

Well I guess I could just  greet a large cross wearer with a "Hi, I see by your cross that you might have some Bible interests". May I greet you in the name of the Lord, My Lord Jesus and pray you have a blessed day? Where did you get your cross was it a gift or did you select it personally? I don't yet have one myself, been thinking about a tattoo though". Isn't it a grand thing to know the security  of eternal life with Jesus, made possible by His sacrifice on  a cross that we may have eternal life with Him and by Him alone ....

That comes across just like someone saying:   I'm not married yet, but thinking about getting a wife soon,  then maybe a different wife if that one doesn't work out.....  as both adultery and tattoos are forbidden by Yahuweh(God).

That's okay, it is not necessary that you see.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
