We have plenty of historical examples to answer this for us. The early church in the Roman empire, the Protestants leaving Catholicism, Christian resistance to the Nazis and Soviets... we should follow the example have from the apostles. Hide, go underground, keep things a secret, evacuate our children to a safer place if needed... but don’t shed blood. This is what the underground church is doing right now in China, Iran, and elsewhere. Stay in the shadow of that hidden place, but be prepared for death if the Lord allows them to catch you.

Otherwise, we would all have to surmise that our Christian brethren in China and Iran are a bunch of cowards for hiding underground. Watchman Nee was a coward. Deitrich Bonhoeffer was a coward. Corrie ten Boom was a coward. Are you prepared to go down that road?

Sis you're assuming i am holding some beliefs I really don't    In the limited views you are  focusing on, i would not counsel armed defense in general, but I am  dead certain there are situations where it is warranted.  I think what I'm saying is the key is actively listening, being guided moment by  moment, and confident that if He appoints force He  has a reason....

Oh brother I was not trying to personally assign that belief to you. I was speaking rhetorically on the dangers in this topic.

We ought to be the ones asking if we deserve their respect. Underground Christians in other nations are seeing revivals, miracles, and conversions the likes of which we in America have lost.

amen sis...i do not know what I would have done in their shoes.  And I have studied martyrs and martyrdom from Scripture, very  deeply.  I know there is no greater honor in heaven than that given to those who lay down their life for the King, just as He laid down His life for them (us).

That's a pretty amazing statement to me...He said it, then demonstrated it, and it stands for us today.  There is NO greater expression of love in this world than to be willing to give life in place of another.

Heaven does not forget....and it grieves me too to hear such a choice despised as unworthy.

 

Edit to add:  but we need not ignore David's mighty  men, Sampson, Gideon......      What He  chooses to call for, laying down our life, or being  strong and doing great exploits to  deliver those of His under threat, is up to Him....and we need not despise those who obey His commands to  rise up  and deliver  either.

Not very long ago I would have agreed with you. Things are changing faster than my mind can keep up with. But with what has and is occurring so rapidly I think our days of 1st and 2nd Amendment rights are numbered. Look at how just one crisis changed our freedoms with the Patriot Act. I believe just one more major national disaster, be it natural disaster, terrorism or man made; the opportunity will not be wasted. Look at the radical kooks recently elected to office spouting things that would have been treasonous not long ago, and being listened to and acted upon (the disease is spreading). They represent the thoughts and feeling of those whom elected them. The 'greatest generation' and their ideals and sacrifices are all but gone and hate is spreading like wild fire. Being replaced in our country by another generation educated by the state, atheists and God haters with liberal educations and socialistic mindsets. They're being pumped out faster than Carter produced liver pills so to speak. 

Patriotism and national sovereignty are rapidly being replaced by socialism, liberalism, entitlement, civil unrest and open borders. With each day, more and more God fearing and patriotic Americans are dying off and being replaced with the entitlement crowd, socialists, one worlder's and evolutionists. I personally think the coming 2020 elections as far as America is concerned; will be critical for America's fate (god is in control and sets it's global leaders for His purposes).

Remember the recent two plus year ammo shortage where no one could find popular ammo? A weapon is useless without ammo; the government could buy it all, tax it beyond affordability, or any number of ways to skirt the 2nd Amendment. From my vantage point; it appears that about half of America now is divided between conservative and liberal, and liberalism is exponentially growing. Many churches and denominations have converted to political correctness and the ways of the world and are silent and of no effect. 

Yep, 49 years ago I took that oath and vow and not on my watch. But shortly my oath and all the others will be silent; and replaced by those who's oath and loyalty lie elsewhere. Without revival and repentance, the intervention of God's long suffering and Grace; I think we can guess the fate of our nation shortly.

What would really be amazing would be to see more American Christians ‘come out of her my people.’ Yank those kids out of public school, cut that cable cord, toss out the NFL tee shirts, and leave social media to be the sewer it really is.

Oh no, we can’t do that, because we desperately need the gays and millennials to hear our side of the story. This strategy hasn’t been working for us at all as we continue to lose our country, but no no, this is a great investment of our time.

Fox News makes money from the ratings, Facebook makes a fortune from our laughable ‘evangelizing’ efforts, and we all watch another year tick by as things go from bad to worse.

We’re locked in a system, folks, and we’re playing the game they want us to play. They WANT conservatives to spin their wheels on social media debates. As long as the children are still in public school and Netflix is making a profit on its godless content, we can complain about society on Facebook all we like. 

All bark and no bite. That’s an American Christin for you.

The amo shortage was caused by the media and greed.....   I don't know where you live, but we didn't have any amo shortage at all here in central Oklahoma...  you just had to know where to go to get it....    Every time someone replenished their stock week end gun show people would buy it all up.   I have a good friend that I worked with that had close to 20,000 rounds of .223 5.6 rounds for our AR's    I couldn't even estimate the number of 22 long riffle both in bulk and packages....    we could always get whatever amo we needed either from them or on weekends...   of course at prices higher than from retail stores.    I know people that paid Walmart employees to let them know when their stock arrived and they never used the three box limit with those guys...

Anyway the only shortage I had was refusing to pay the high prices for the 22 lr for my sig mosquito.

There are more and more socialist types in the main stream media and Democrats running, but the underground majority outside of California and New York city area will never accept socialism.          I do not think our military will allow it either.    Many of the Generals and two levels down were ready to overthrow the Obama administration about six months before they talked Donald Trump into running.   They really pushed to get him elected and have kept him safe.   It was the head of the NSA that told him he was being spied on that caused him to move his election offices out of Trump tower and there have been at least ten attempts on his life that I am aware of since he won the election.  The Mossad are good people to watch out for you I am told.
