Misinterpretations in Revelation

I will start with what most believe to be a 1000yr reign. In Rev20, 1000 is chilia in greek, & for those with  an interlinear bible, you will see that this is plural, so at least 2000yrs. We have been in the millennium since Acts2 v16-17, where Joel said "...in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh..." (gentiles), which started there at pentecost. 2Pet 3v8 says a day is a 1000yrs, & a 1000yrs is a day in God's eyes, last 2 days, 2000yrs, up to present day.

Why are you bringing this up?

Do you not understand there are as many variations of dogma regarding these topics as there are people who buy into them?

Nothing.  Absolutely nothing will be resolved in these pages.

Why?

Because you've only invited opinion, not anything based on fact logic or documented scholarly work.

People prefer to vent their private fantasies on these subjects and if one disagrees one is either censored or labeled a miscreant.

It is better to ask how one may appropriately weigh and consider the words of scripture than to ask for opinions.   For in the repetition of opinion there is no end.  Neither is there satisfaction in an answer.......because no answer is sought.

You are missing the forest for staring at a tree.

You are suggesting the Lord will destroy 1/3 of the earth's environment for some unenlightened individuals in Tibet and Nepal.

With the understanding that the events in Revelation chapters 8 and 9 concern the end times, and that the mountain (nation) of the Lord in Isaiah 2:2 will be the highest of the nations in the end times; would the things peoples hands produce throughout the world which they love be religious icons? 

Isaiah 2:2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. 

2:8 Their land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made:

Note there were "plagues." What were the plagues? They were the 5th trumpet judgment - the stinging, flying beasties, and then the heavenly army that will kill 1/3 of earth's population. Now, what will the REMAINING 2/3 do? They will keep right on bowing down to demons as they bow before their idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, and wood: Idols that cannot see nor hear nor walk. Go back and read Isa. 44 again.

Note again, the plagues that wiped out 1/3 came BEFORE God said the 2/3 left behind would continue to worship idols.

However, it is VERY likely that those 1/3 that died were doing the same thing: worshiping idols. You can imagine it is all the material things man has today, but this scripture is talking about IDOLS that people worship as GODS. I hope you do understand, even the most magnificent golden Buddha was made with human hands. The beautiful Jade Buddha was made by humans.

Why will God choose to destroy the world and the sinners in the world? It is because the world wants NOTHING to do with the God of creation.  They want a world WITHOUT a God. So God is going to give them what they want: He is going to turn His back, so to speak, on the world for 3.5 long years. The world will then see what it is like with out the God of creation. However, while they want NOTHING to do with the God of creation, still billions bow down to man made idols.  Others bow down with their head to the ground worshiping a moon God. 

Do you not watch World news? There are plagues, pestilences, famines, droughts, and civil strife, increasing in many areas throughout the world, of which many if not most are attributed to changing weather patterns, which according to the majority scientific consensus, is due to fossil fuel use.

God is love (1 John 4:8 & 16). People who love material things, in turn exchange their love for God who is love, for a love for material things, which things are then their gods/loves.

1 John 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 

16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

When God turns 1/3 of the seas to blood, some scientist will no doubt come up with some scientific reason for it!

There has been nuclear fallout danger several times on earth, and one very recently - man made. I think the 3rd trumpet judgment is speaking of nuclear fallout.  I suspect it will be a nuclear exchange. Who knows how many bombs will be exploded? It is going to be world war 3. 

I don't think man will have anything to do with less light from the sun, moon and stars. 

I agree, there are many things happening today, but they are not any of the trumpet judgments.
