Like I'm hearing a popular trend everywhere these days, like I don't care for it. Like even my very own daughter has adopted it, and like I hear it constantly on TV, like with the younger generation. Like I just don't know what school taught them to like, just butcher the English sentence like it or not. Like, does anyone know what I'm talking about, like where's this coming from?

Like, yes, it's crazy.

And; I'm thinking, right? Don't know, wasn't there, you are telling me. I'm thinking this when she adds....right yet again? like it's all mess'n with my mind, I tell ya.

This seems to be the new buzz word going around. I don't mind it whole lot and even use it myself sometimes. One that won't be missed is the term: genre meaning = category. Never cared for that one at all. Sounds like something distasteful to eat. What's for dinner? Oh, not much. Just some left-over genre. Yummy!

@BeauJangles

I heard a preacher on the radio saying it in his sermon repeatedly.

Then I realized (like you said) that "right?" must be trending.

I didn't have the opportunity to be a hippy even if I so desired, I was sort of counter culture back then anyway. Went into the military shortly after high school and stayed associated with the Army for the next twenty years. I remember our first head shaves in basic training and all the people with long hair. The contracted military barbers were professional and thoughtful to those with long hair; they asked the hairy ones, if they wanted to keep all that nice long hair, "hold out your hands"...

I had the same barber. 1966, camp Pendleton, Calif.
The yellow footprints. My first thirty second haircut.

This is a groovy thread. 14672E3C-8DB0-4B10-845B-E77C2A1CFBE9.gif.dcae917c8b790811021b7ba94a6fe47d.gif

(Especially posted for Turtle, who hates this ‘groovy’ word.

You've done something with your hair, Sonshine. Very modern.

Has anyone heard of the recent strange word - `woke.` It is used in a different context than I just woke up.

Meaning you are aware of what is happening around the world. (I think)

1970, Ft. Leonard Wood. Banged the electric clippers hard against the skull, very hard. There were six barbers standing and waiting for the entire company. It was a race to see whom could cut the most hair faster it seemed. If your haircut took thirty seconds, you must have had some rank and tender loving care :D We were even required to pay for the shearing. What was your favorite candy to try and hide in the barracks? Did your 2 inch thick mattress ever develop wings and fly out a window during inspection, standing outside in the dark in formation at 1:00 A.M. in the rain with 37 degree temperatures :D. Oh the memories...
