I dont see where skin color matters at all.

In my experience, the only ones who make an issue of skin color is 1) racists 2) mormons (poor theology that teaches that skin color equates with sinfulness).

The only times the bible refers to skin color is either to denote the cultural context of beauty or to refer to leprosy.

Skin color does not make anyone less or better as a person, or as a saved person. Our standing before Christ should be the only thing that matters, Not the color of anyones skin.

PS ruddy, round here (UK) denotes one with a habitual flushed skin, such as someone with high blood pressure or weather reddened skin. Many fair skinned people don't tan from constant outside work, there skin reddens.

That was also my personal view, and I had a step-father who was complected in this manner.

Sorry, I might have missed something but I still don't understand the reason behind your OP or whether you were trying to make a point of some kind...?

There are things in scripture that appear to be contradictory but aren't really.  The example of Paul having Timothy circumcised when elsewhere he preached against circumcision.....i believe thankfully can be resolved.  Paul was preaching against circumcising out of a belief that it is required by God, since it is no longer required under the new covenant....he was talking in the context of being circumcised as a work of the Law,  and in the context of those who were trying to make Gentiles get circumcised.  But it is not a sin in itself to be circumcised..... and so Paul had Timothy circumcised out of expediency in the interests of the gospel, so as to not offend unbelieving Jews unnecessarily, since Timothy's mother was a Jew which made Timothy a Jew according to scripture and in the eyes of other Jews.....it isn't as if Paul was trying to make a Gentile get circumcised.  And he didn't do it from a wrong belief that God requires it of a believer, or to avoid being persecuted by the Jews.....but only for the sake of expediency so as to not put an unnecessary stumbling block in the way of Jews coming to faith, where Paul and Timothy were evangelizing together.  Hope that makes sense and puts your mind at ease on that, and if you want to bring other things that appear contradictory, maybe we can look at them to see if the Lord will help us resolve those as well...if you want, we can try.

I object to this whole thread title. There is NO CORRECT skin colour for a Jew.

Thank you for summing up my words for me! Why is this even a thread? lol

- Too bad Paul didn't extend the same belief of expediency to Peter,

when Paul accused him of just eating with Jews instead of circumcising someone for them.

So there's a 2nd contradiction of Paul on this matter of The Jews.

God looks at hearts.   He's not so observant of skin color.

If you go to Israel, you'll see Jews with blonde hair and light skin, and you'll see Ethiopian jews who are very dark skinned.

Also, there is a lot of theological JUNK on the internet.  A lot of it is cut and pasted and posted on this Forum.    And there is just as much on Cable Television.

The best way to protect yourself from being mislead by people or by infomercials, that can teach really wild nonsense about the bible, Jesus, ect, is to just find out where the person, or the program got their information.

The source is always the problem, if there is a problem.

- Yes thanks God does look at the heart.

No need to concern of me. I'm not following any misleading's.  I'm led by God's Holy Spirit into all truth.

Jesus often ask questions, of the answers people wanted.

Jesus said, I will make you fishers of men. Got Bait?

There are thousands in Africa who have converted to Judaism. There is a sect of them who claim they have the ark of covenant. It's not true of course, but they are adamant about this.

- Yeah they can claim what ever they like. But until it is seen I don't believe them.

Besides God said The Ark Of His Covenant is seen in heaven. - Rev.11:9

I am aware of "The Black Israelites". I lost a friend to them.

I haven't made the effort to dig into this before making this comment...so this is only an idea at this point.

Is it possible the beauty of white skin is more about social class than race or region? Women who labored in the fields naturally got dark from the sun. Could it be that a lack of such tanning from hard work was a sign of elegance or status?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
