I don't know about the places of abode or dwelling or mansions and perhaps there will be such places, but I don't think we will need 'rest' so to speak as we as mortals imagine it.

Perhaps theses things are more about 'functions' within the vast construct of sonship....I can't imagine what that looks like and neither can anyone else.

Perhaps its meant only for the natural humans that will continue to be born and live and never get sick or die, as a testament of God's Glory and what is in store for them in their individual future.

One thing I am pretty sure of is that 'we' will be very busy with much to do--recall that the 'increase of His government' will have no end.

Operative word being 'increase'.

Yup--we are gonna be busy for age upon age and I suspect that time won't be spent in an easy chair taking a nap after a meal.

:-)

@Dennis1209    Flesh and blood can not inheiret the Kingdom of God, our glorified bodies will be like Jesus' body, ...all of His Blood was drained out of Him.  Our curent bodies have a blood drive system, then our redeemed bodies will have a Spirit drive system, ...just another facet of the, "Holy Spirit will abide with us forever,"  ...Halleuah!!!

I love you all, but I will need my quiet time alone with Father, ...we'll sit under the grape arbor and just talk, ...how much fun it will be to pick God's intellengce.

Revelation 3:12 (KJV) Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. [emphasis mine]

Revelation 21:2 (KJV) And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. [emphasis mine]

Do Christians and the body of Christ overcome? The body of Christ and His bride are synonymous IMO. The new Jerusalem is described as having 12 foundations and 12 gates. The twelve gates are each representative of the twelve tribes of Israel. The twelve foundations are; the twelve Apostles [the Gospel; to the Jew first, then also to the Greek (gentile) us].

As a side: I can't prove it, but somehow it makes sense to me. Our rewards, assignments and responsibilities will be commensurable with our fruits and what we did for our Lord Jesus and the Kingdom of God. The new Jerusalem is described as three dimensional; 1,500 x 1,500 x 1,500 miles. Today and historically, those high ranking, most esteemed, with the most honor and respect; get the best and highest seats to view a play, games, scenery, etc. Like Trump Tower or any other high class dwelling; I suspect elevation in the new Jerusalem might be commensurable with service.

Just things I ponder and try to piece together.

So, back to the original question if you accept we Christians will be occupants in the new Jerusalem after the millennium. What are we going to use the rooms for?

Hi Dennis,

Not so fast. How can we answer a question based on error.

Let`s look at that scripture.

`He who overcomes, I will -

1. make him a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go out no more.

2. And I will write on him the name (authority) of my God,

3. and the name (authority) of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from my God.

4. And I will write on him my new name (authority).  (Rev. 3: 12)

Four wonderful promises for our inheritance. Authority in all of God`s great kingdom. And our seat of power and authority will be with the Lord on His throne, (authority) in the third heaven. Notice that the new Jerusalem comes DOWN out of heaven from God. We do NOT come down but are in the third heaven with the Lord. The Old Testament Saints have been promised the city. We have not.

` Therefore God is not ashamed to  be called their (OT saints) God, for He has prepared a city for them.` (Heb. 11: 16)

`...for he (Abraham) waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.` (Heb. 11: 10)

Also scripture tells us that Israel is the bride. No where does God say that the Body is the bride. That is error.

It's an attempt at a little humor to lighten things up a bit, using an old adage. Meaning, if the cows have not come home yet, the debate continues on and on. Debating the 'body of Christ' and 'the bride of Christ' would take another lengthy explanation to support our differing views.

Of course I remember now. Thanks.

Hi Dennis,

I actually live in a dairy area and the cows come home when it is time for them to be milked. Thus it is important to discuss these topics, perhaps on their own thread, because they concern which inheritance we believe for. Do we believe God for the inheritance the OT saints were promised or do we believe God for the Inheritance the Body of Christ has been promised.

Do we really know the Lord and His purposes?

Hi Dennis,

What do you call dispensation-ism? Thanks.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
