Hi Again,

One more thought to share;

While the sense of haunting or possession could be something else there is still need to treat the symptoms which lead to suspicion are that it is demonic in nature.

Practical example from the medical world;  In emergency when one grabs their chest says their arm is numb and they can't breath emergency personnel start immediate treatment for a heart attack.  They don't wait and instead think well it could  just be a stomach ulcer let's treat for that  and see.

Take the most serious of possibilities and first treat for it. Then sift and sort out  other potential causes. Most serious lack is the lack of the protection  by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. So share the gospel of Jesus, and share some more and share some more after that. Armor up as you do, and do not be timid nor fear to say "I need to consult within my Bible, let's read together and pray together."

May God protect as you  face this challenge.

Hi, May I suggest that you read for yourself within your Bible all that you may find that pertains to demons before offering advice to another person, especially  those that have not read the Bible  nor believe that Jesus  is the way the truth and the life.

Be prepared to show all of them that  your own protection from anything demonic is the Holy Spirit, and guardian angels. Tell them why. Tell them of the spiritual warfare that exists and is not only real  but deadly serious.

I suggest all of that  though it is not the quick  go find the vicar, because it is you  that has been asked. Therefore you have need to present the gospel of Jesus first, not send them to another. Give your own testimony.

Simply trying to rid a person of a presumed demon, even if it is successful leaves only an empty house. The empty house is then there for that demon to come back to with friends making the person haunted  and worse off. This may have already occurred.

Pray for all of those within the household, pray for yourself, enlist others, even here in prayer, but share of Jesus. For without you sharing of what  is your own eternal safety  there is to be no victory for someone  afflicted. At this point the call into service of our Lord is to you.

So get out your good study Bible with a concordance and begin the hard work before you is my suggestion. Please pray  on that  suggestion and see if you are so led.   Please do not just pass it on  to a vicar as though that has done something. The fight is for all the saints to fight.

Praying for you and your own decision, praying for this family. May God bless your effort with the aid  of many angels.

Hi Neighbour

I take on board what you say.

However, i have been trying to help this lady and thus her family for a good while on my own. I have no training and don't know what else to do. I offer my friendship and prayers. My church people are not really approachable. They are so busy running their church they do not seem to care for individuals right in front of them who are struggling. I have nobody to turn to.

I feel it is right to signpost my friend to the vicar as surely he has training to deal with more serious matters? I am out of my depth so i can pray but no more.

Some wise advice has been mentioned. As all have said, Jesus is the answer, and we best be cautious dealing with unclean spirits and demons with unsaved people and places. I believe the Lord has given Christians the power to cast out some demons in non-believers in His name. Non believers were casting out demons in the name of Jesus, and Jesus knew them not. The Bible mentions demons being cast out of a person and it left a void, the person did not fill that void with the Holy Spirit by asking Jesus into his life, he was still hollow. The demon came back and found his house clean and swept and ready again for occupation, so he brought a bunch of his buddies with him; and it became much worse.

As Christians, we are filled with the Holy Spirit; it's not possible for a demon to indwell us. We are given the tools [as listed in Eph. 6:] to defend ourselves against demonic spiritual attack if we will take advantage of them. The non-believer has no tools or defense from spiritual demonic attack. I'm no expert in these things, but I've heard with every idol there's a demon attached. It appears many princes, powers and demons are associated with geographical areas and objects. The princes of Greece and Persia come to mind, as well as all the objects the Lord commanded to be destroyed and burned many times in the Bible. Is it possible a graven image, idol, Ouija board game, occult book, etc. entered the home?

The only certain and lasting solution to this and every other problem; is for he, they or them to hear or read the Gospel of Jesus Christ from someone, believe it and ask the Lord into their lives and repent. We can do nothing of ourselves but through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and sharing the Gospel of Salvation. Perhaps if a Pastor and man of God that has dealt with these problems could be found, he might be better equipped to explain what he, they or them are experiencing?

Please don't take this as advice, it's not. Just personal thoughts I'd have if I were in your shoes so to speak. No matter what the problem we face, Jesus is always the answer and solution.

Only my friend. Her family is not. Her son is an addict with serious problems. She and i are praying for him to be saved.

If her family was focused on Jesus Christ they would not be concerned with a haunted house and demons.

Really? Didn't even Jesus have to be concerned with Satan? Demons attack Christians that are active in ministry all the time. Even Angels need additional angels to come into the fight.

From Eph 6: ..."Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.  Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.  For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.  Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,  and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace.  In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one;  and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,  praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,  and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel,  for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak."

So far i have suggested prayers of protection in the name of Jesus Christ. Referral to our vicar of course. I presume the Church of England has some remedy for such situations?

I have provided a small cross for the troubled addict to put in his room along with a bible.

Have i done right and what other steps can the family take? There is definitely something unwholesome being sensed in their home.

Shalom Melinda,

Tricky one.

A small cross and a Bible is not likely to do much.  The symbol of the cross only is seen to have power by religious types, catholic exorcists and in movies.  The Bible in itself is not likely to be a deterrent for an evil spirit as they often know the book more than some Christians.

Is the family Christian?  If not, it makes things trickier. But what you can suggest to them either way are the following things...

  • To remove any idols (such a statues, icons, sculptures or art)
  • To remove any occult imagery or trinkets (such as pentagrams, hexagrams, dreamcatchers, incense burners, Masonic jewellery)
  • To remove any tribute or shrine to a dead loved one.

Then, if the man (or leader of the house) prays in each room of the house to clear it. Such as saying "In the name and by the authority of the Lord Yahushua (Jesus), the son of Almighty Yahweh,  I command any evil or lost spirit to leave this house as once".  Now, even if they are not Christian, it shouldn't matter as it's the name and authority of the Messiah which the spirit will obey - not the fact of who they are  or how good they are.   Any spirit that refuses to listen to a command in His name, will be in a great deal of trouble on Judgement Day, so it's likely they will flee.

Hopefully something in the above helps.

Love & Shalom

Good advice here. Read the account of legion to get a bit of understanding. These nasty spirits that give believers such problems are a really bad smell. Corrupt and stinky.

Be careful and yet be pure in your approach. Remember that we bring NOTHING to the table regarding our salvation, just BELIEVING LOYALTY. Do not kid yourself that you can impress God or any demon. You will not. Just come as a child, and as a child call upon the Lord and His Spirit. The Spirit of Christ as the apostle calls Him. And in this name and no other, just COMMAND. Do not 'pray' just COMMAND.

Make sure, as previously well said, that there is no device or icon that represents evil. If there is, burn it.

Then, in humility, COMMAND.

Sure you will be assailed by doubts, but that is just smoke and mirrors from the dark side. Yes, you ARE unworthy, but Yeshua is your worthiness, so be convinced, believe and COMMAND.

That is exactly what the principalities and powers want. They have done a good job of getting believers to strip the supernatural out of their scriptures and beliefs. Thus they have a free and open field and are unopposed.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
