You sin when, and only when, you break one of the Lord's commandments. Don't be like the Pharisees and make this harder than you have to.

The commandments of which Bible book? The decalogue is for we Jews only. Do you marry your brother's wife? Wear mixed clothing? Kill a pigeon in Jerusalem for your sin?

Sin in the NT is missing the mark of God's perfection, not law-keeping.

Does that include Mormons, Catholics, Jehovah's Witnesses, and similar cults?

They all say they are following Him..... and some of these even have the most beautiful statues of His Mother right there beside His Statue, that you've ever seen.

So, i think what you are meaning is .....if we by faith BELIEVE IN JESUS as our Savior, then God will Have us as His own.  (Born again).

If you love the Lord with all your heart, soul, and mind, and love your neighbor as yourself, I believe you'll find the gate to heaven open.

You can sin as much as you want, but you'll find life difficult if you do. To avoid the trouble sin gets us into, we need to obey the commandments, but not the decrees, statutes, and ordinances that the Jews are required to obey:

[18] And a ruler asked him, "Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?"
[19] And Jesus said to him, "Why do you call me good? No one is good but God alone.
[20] You know the commandments: `Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honor your father and mother.'" Luke 18:18-20

If you believe in Jesus name and love your brother and others you are saved. Now you cannot love your brother unless your first born of God. He loved us first. By giving his son up for us. It's only by faith in jesus that we become saved. If you believe God raise him from the dead . Then your justified by his blood. He gives you his spirit the second you believe.  The evidence you are saved is you love your brother. If you dont care about your brothers and sisters then it shows you dont believe.  But no one will be perfect in this life. You can fall short at times. But mostly you will be eager to show your love. If you fall short it will hurt you in your heart that you lack in some way and you will do something about it. No one born again does not love his brother or sister. You can be sure your saved by this. But in loving your brother you are not earning salvation but you are already saved by faith in christ. Through his blood.

There is no gate to heaven.

What are you talking about?

There is a Savior, who is,  "THE WAY."   John  14:6

God doea not ask you for your "love" to save you.  He requires only one thing from you, and that is your FAITH.

"by Faith you are saved".   "justification by FAITH".

Now, i have a question for you.

You stated that in 1973, you encountered the Lord's "presence", and many years later you "repented".

So, on which of these occasions were you SAVED?

[13] "Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is easy, that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many.
[14] For the gate is narrow and the way is hard, that leads to life, and those who find it are few. Matt 7:13-14 RSV

Nice verses.

But neither has anything to do with the Grace of God as a free gift, or "justification by Faith"...... tho many  Legalists who dont understand the Grace of God, would try to earn their way into heaven according to their misunderstanding of those  2 SYMBOLIC verses you posted.

You dont earn salvation by using a Gate or a garden hose, or a TV dinner.   You dont enter heaven through a gate or by a hole in a wall, or by riding a KITE.   You are ONLY accepted into the family of God based on the Blood of Jesus being applied to your sin, after you gave God your FAITH, that He requires.

Also, this is the 3rd time im going to ask you..    You said in '1973 you had an experience with the "presence" of the Lord.   Those are your words.   You then said that years later, you "repented"... Those are your words.... So, for the 3rd time, i'm asking you if you were saved during one of those experiences, or not.

Thanks in advance for finally answering.

1) No, James talks about keeping or breaking the Law, not "commandments". There are 613 commandments, by the way, within the Law of Moses, and Jesus said He didn't come to abolish the Law.

2) Are you claiming these commandments on Luke 18 are the ones to keep? They are very easy to keep and many atheists and theists keep them.

3) How do you think a person gets to Heaven and misses Hell? Can an atheist keep these commandments and inherit eternal life?

Did Jesus die for the unrighteous ?

Is an atheist unrighteous (like all other people to start with) ?

Did Jesus die for the atheist ?

Can the atheist therefore repent and be immersed in Jesus' Name and inherit eternal life (like few people who find the narrow gate/road to life as written) ?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
