If this was an act of God, from what I've seen, it's one of His lightest scourges yet. If you told me the black death in the middle ages was an act of God - with 50% fatalities - I can agree, yeah, that's a pretty serious plague. But to repeat, a few oldies dying in the Winter months of a cold doesn't count as an act of God by my definition, without further evidence (e.g. God telling us, I'm going to send a very mild pestilence which will strike down as many as die every year anyway).

 

I do agree this doesn't seem to be some act of God to punish us...   at least it doesn't see that way to me. And, especially this seems to happen every 100 years so it's probably just nature at it's worse for us.         However we can only have educated guesses as to what would have been if we did nothing...   We had more than a thousand die yesterday and 177 in the US.      And in the US we have 112,377 cases and 1872 deaths....we say well that's not really that many...   but the problem is that out of that 112.377 cases, 107,285 are still sick...   and we had 18,961 new cases yesterday and today as of 11:48 Oklahoma time another 8,251 new cases today.

And keep in mind that in the US, we have only had 3,219 people cured of this...   and with 1,872 deaths, for all the people where this disease has run it's course, 37% have died.   So please don't treat this like the regular flu as they did for the first round in the Spanish flu....      we don't need that again...    and making light of it will just promote people doing things they shouldn't be doing

Look, I just posted a scripture verse that showed God was displeased with Israel and he sent a plague as a punishment.  I did not comment on the OP statement as I really don't know if it is the hand of God at work here, though it is possible, hence the reason of posting the verses.  

If it is taken out of context or so, then please explain the verses and what it is referring to.  

My personal take is Satan being the God of this world, whom the Lord has allowed him a considerable amount of powers and which he [satan ] is using to bring in his ideal plan to keep men in his domain. He uses all the things that men desires and puts them before our eyes to captivate and love the world.  Well, in the last couple decades this has taken place, but has really exploded in the last twenty years.  

This scourge may be a plot of satan to take more forceful control under disguise or it could well be the Lord sending a message like he did by using Moses to do his work.  It is written and our history to show the Lord can act when he so chooses.  Which way it is, I have no conviction, but my own personal one.

Sorry. I never intentioned this to be cold. I believe death is the sentence pronounced on all of mankind long ago when Adam sinned. It's the sad nature of life now that we all will grow old and die - well, some of us may not get chance to grow old.

But God's plagues in the bible - these strike down most everyone, young and old, male and female (often), but He mostly spares His own people (unless the plague is on them). This Corona sickness doesn't seem to have any of these properties. Relatively few deaths, mostly the aged affected, no distinction between Christian and Heathen. So my understanding of this is that it is God's permissive will, not a plague He has sent against us.

     Okay,no worries.....I agree,we live in a corrupted ,dying,temporal earth -yes indeed & yes again,some of us will not grow old(though I am old-lol) Also,I don't believe this is one of those plagues from the Wrath of God either

    But lets not minimize what is out there & I cannot say"few deaths,mostly aged" because #1)that is not true,many between ages 20 & 50 are critically ill & have died and #2) it's not over & for all we know this may be round one
