the sad truth there are true teachers & false teachers,  & yes there is sound doctrine & false doctrine,  you just have to discern who you are listening to & what they are saying

Its simple to discern between the 2.

All you have to do is notice what they do with the Cross.

Are they lifting it up by giving Jesus and He alone all credit do Him for saving you and keeping you saved ???

Or, are they tearing down the Cross and replacing it with SELF.  Self effort, to try to STAY SAVED.

You can't replace Jesus, as the Blood Atonement IS the only solution for Sin and the only offer of FREE Eternal Life... The only solution that can Keep you SAVED....And when someone is trying to tell you that the Blood and the Cross is not ALL ......that you have to add to the CROSS and to the BLOOD your SELF......your works, your EFFORT...then you have discerned a Heretic.

In other words: Can someone teach wrong doctrines even when they dont want?

or all false teachers know that what they are doing is wrong?

Scripture tells us that only mature Christians should consider being a teacher of the word.    It is very possible for one to be a poor teacher because of a lack of scriptural knowledge and a lack of maturity.   When I hear a teacher, I compare what they are saying by Scripture.    Write down every verse and read them in context.    If more than one verse is out of context,  I will send them a note pointing out those misquotes of Scriptures.  If the second time, they have not corrected their problem of misquoting scripture,  I will challenge them in public.    If they then misquote scripture like "touch not god's anointed",  I laugh and tell them that they are a false teacher.  One who is exposing a false teacher is not out to kill them or physically hurt them.

1 Chronicles 16:22 Easy-to-Read Version (ERV)
He said, “Don’t hurt my chosen people.
    Don’t hurt my prophets.”

1 Chronicles 16:22 King James Version (KJV)
22 Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.

All teachers whether false or true have the scriptures and should always look to them for answers, a lot of the time teachers take things into their own hands and say heresy simply because the devil sowed the seed so they could do that. The devil works in the church more than he does the world.
