A prophet. Jeremiah tells us the qualifications needed. Have you been invited to the Throne room of God or stood in His Council?

A seer has everything to do with the Eyes of the Lord. Jesus tells his disciples in..

Acts 1:8  (KJV)

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

These disciples made a transition from disciples to Apostles at the day of Pentecost. They were true eye witnesses. Witness in the Greek means martyr. These disciples were eyewitnesses of the coming of the Lord. 11

Acts 1:11Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

12 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us

The apostles at the day of Pentecost were and are the eyewitnesses of the coming of the Lord as that cloud of witnesses that Hebrews 12:1 talks about.
This is that cloud that Jesus’s coming is in the cloud of witnesses. This makes the apostles the eyes of the Lord which sound the Trumpet of the Lord of his coming in us at the time of our death whether that death takes place while we are living or at the death of the physical body.

This is why we must die to the flesh the Adamic nature in order for the coming of the Lord is manifested in us. It’s appointed unto men to die once then the resurrection and Judgement. This is when the accuser of the brethren is cast out.....Revelation 12:10-11

10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.

11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

These souls who love not their lives unto the death are eye witnesses of his coming and are the ones who witness or proclaim the gospel. This gospel being preached is the trumpet of the Lord that is sounding to those hearts for their Salvation.

Seer | Definition of Seer by Merriam-Webster

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/seer

Definition of seer. 1 : one that sees. 2a : one that predicts events or developments. b : a person credited with extraordinary moral and spiritual insight. 3 : one that practices divination.

Yes BeauJangles, a modern definition of a seer can and does include mystics.

With the advent of the NAR it has all become blurred with modernity and of course the Gnostic influences.

What is a Seer?

I'll stand corrected on that, but still say modern terms do not commonly associate the word "seer" in the prophetical sense they did in the Old Testament. Seer is not used in the New Testament either. We do have these OT scripture references including the one posted previously. Carry on, brothers.

1 Chronicles 29:29 29Now the acts of David the king, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of Samuel the seer, and in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the book of Gad the seer,

2 Chronicles 9:29 29Now the rest of the acts of Solomon, first and last, are they not written in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the visions of Iddo the seer against Jeroboam the son of Nebat?

1 Samuel 9:9 9(Beforetime in Israel, when a man went to enquire of God, thus he spake, Come, and let us go to the seer: for he that is now called a Prophet was beforetime called a Seer.)

Question:  What are these questions?

Sitting at my computer, at this time, reviewing some things, some questions have come to me through God.

Question:  Can you expand more on the OP, and about Illusions and seeing?

Quote

Looking at this from a different angle, man meets pretty girl. He likes the idea of her. He creates some sort of image in his head of who he would like her to be. He was not interested in her, who she was, what she had done. He was interested in the fantasy image of her. He may have been a blind man who had illusions. These illusions gave him a false perspective. Given she tried to tell him certain things about who she was, and her past, or give him hints about it, it was in one ear or out the other or just didn't compute?

The fact is, you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband. What you have just said is quite true." (John 4:18)

No false beliefs. No illusions. Jesus looked at someone, and conversed. Jesus was intuitive and perceived through his Spirit.

A man walks down the street, he sees pretty girl.  It is good to appreciate beauty.  It is pleasant to look upon a beautiful woman.  What does said man see and think when he looks at her?  What was in his heart?  God is love.  (1 John 4:8)  God's love is fatherly.  Given said man had, in his heart, God's fatherly love, there may have been an understanding of sin, God's righteous anger, and a desire for Good things for people.  There may have been an understanding of God's plan or plans.  It is good to desire a wife.  Desiring to be with someone in the wrong way would be lustful and wrong and blinding to God and God's fatherly love.

A man goes to a well, and sees a Samaritan woman.  He thinks she is pretty or he sees her as a Samaritan and scoffs or something? She was not his people.

Jesus goes to the well, and he was perceiving through his Spirit.  He was looking at someone with God's fatherly love.

Continuing on Seeing

Young man was brought up in a Church, and his parents worked to bring him up in Godliness; however, he went to a public school, or there were corrupt children from parents who did not share the same values there.  Have you ever been into a Fifth Grade Bathroom in a public school?  Check the graffiti?

Young man goes to a public school.  As young as sixth or seventh grade, his friends were talking about girls, going to parties, and messing around.  As he gets older, he may have started thinking about dating.  Did he have a crush?   What happened to his crush?  Did she start dating?  These these things start to play on The Ego.  His friends were in sin, and it seemed ok?  Who gets the girl?  His friends were all dating and talking about their exploits.  The girl he liked ended up dating as well.  What is he to do?  Get in line like it was a brothel?  These types of things play on the ego and may have been in the sub conscious.  The World, like Christians should reject The World, set people up for failure.

A pastor was married for 10 years, but he went to a public school.  As a young man he had been popular and played a few sports.  As a married pastor for 10 years, he got drunk one night, and ended up cheating on his wife.  Part of that may have been The Ego, and things playing on his subconscious.  There may have been some things from his youth that were never addressed, and pent up, and when he got drunk, he did something he was not proud of......or was he?

Was his wife a virgin when he married her?  Given she was an unrepentant sinner, who did not repent from dating and being in sin, which was socially acceptable at the time, some of that may have subconsciously or spiritually affect said pastor.  A husband and wife become "one flesh" and there may be spirital connections there.  Who was someone becoming "one flesh" with?  A levite could only marry a virgin.

To get rid of the ego.......someone may have to stop caring.  They repent 100%.   They let go.  They seek God with all their heart and soul and strength and mind.  Instead of Ego, they receive the Spirit of God.  Their will may have been brought low till it aligns with God's will and plans.

Question: Are you NAR?

I received a Prophetic Calling around age 30.  (Luke 3:23)  I was mentored by Kingdom Watchers.  I didn't know what NAR was till about a year ago when I found someone mention it on /r/theology.

Wife of a Prophet

Some prophets will be single, but many will be married. The wife of a prophet often carries a heavy burden.

  1. Men called to the prophetic ministry are usually very thick skinned. They need to be to fulfil their calling.

I will make you as unyielding and hardened as they are. I will make your forehead like the hardest stone, harder than flint (Ez 2:8,9).

Today I have made you a fortified city, an iron pillar and a bronze wall to stand against the whole land-the kings of Judah, its officials its priests and the people of the land (Jer 1:18)

The wife of the prophet is not a fortified city. She is a precious vessel (1 Peter 3:7), who is vulnerable to attack. Because opposites attract, she is quite often a very sensitive person.  From http://www.kingwatch.co.nz/Prophetic_Ministry/calling.htm

You cannot be a true Seer until Your a witness or eyewitness of the Coming of the Lord within you as what happened on the Day of Pentecost. They were true witnesses (Martyrs) of Jesus’s coming the Holy  Spirit on that Day.
The cloven tongues like as fire on their foreheads was proof that the disciples were true sacrifices upon the alter of God as said in Romans 12:1.
When the disciples made that transition from disciples to apostles they became that cloud of witnesses of the coming of the Lord. They became the mouth of God the trumpet that sounds the proclamation of  the gospel to lost souls.

This is an example of the old things passing away and all things becoming new. Remember before all things become new like the very verse before this says..,

2 Corinthians  5:16 Therefore, henceforth know we no man according to the flesh; yea, though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now henceforth we know Him so no more.

Knowing Jesus after the flesh is like knowing him after the letter of the scripture. It was a hinderance for Jesus to stay here in the flesh. He said if I don’t go away I can’t send the Comforter (Holy (Spirit). Jesus after the flesh like the letter of scripture can only be followed by an outward command.

Jesus after the Spirit the Holy Spirit is an inward command now to those who have died to the flesh Adamic nature and are born from above.

You cannot truly see until the old things pass away of knowing Jesus after the flesh and you experience your own personal Day of Pentecost by truly dying and becoming a witness or eyewitness of his coming through the Holy Spirit within you. You now are that cloud of witnesses as spoken of in Hebrews 12:1.

Article:  Role of a Prophet

Hello Manonfire63.  Why do you read the articles and sayings of men on something that the Lord would be able to give you the answers?   Why don't you search the Scriptures and tell us what the LORD says who seers are?  That would be more interesting to me.  thank you.  Blessings! :D

I received a calling around the age of 30.  I didn't quite know what was expected of me.  I looked it up.  I found Kingdom Watchers.  The author has been right a lot.

An interesting understanding about the Prophets of the Bible and the Power of the Tongue.......the prophets do not contradict each other.  They were men separated by space and time who God spoke through.

Someone claims to be a prophet, and was contradicting or correcting the prophets?  He would be a false prophet.

Kingdom Watchers has a Body of Work that has been in unison with other Christians who were more of one mind.  As people grow in faith they tend to think more alike or become One Mind with God.  I live in the US. Given someone in China was working to build the Kingdom of God, and had the Holy Spirit, both of us may have been working in unison towards the same goal.  It may be possible he gave specific prophecy that lined up with things that I had been doing through God's Spirit in the US.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
