I’m sure Charles Stanley’s sermon this morning was a rerun, due to the coronavirus, but I thought it was as awfully good one. He reminded us that we are to pray unceasingly (1 Thess 5:17) and pointed out prayer is a dialogue, not a monologue.

Some years ago, i use to work in Christian Radio, and Charles Stanley was one of the Pastors who used our Station on Wed. and  Sunday.

Charles Stanley is very devoted to the fundamentals of the NT faith as strictly taught by Paul, and teaches nothing but  Pauline Theology, as he should.
He will also tell you that the Bible is the "Living Word", not just text on a page, not just a good book, not just a translation,  and He will tell you that having a close personal relationship with God, Thru Christ, is the only real LIFE.

Its interesting that there are certain contemporary Pastors who are basically the same Theological person, regarding their understanding of Paul , as theologically they all teach THIS:  as  the Gospel of Grace, AS the New Testament.

Jesus is the New Testament, He is the New Covenant, and He IS The Grace of God that is the Blood Atonement .   Its all the same thing..

Jesus is Grace.

Jesus is Salvation.

Jesus is the Blood Atonement.

Jesus is Sanctification.

Jesus is Redemption.

Jesus is Eternal Life.

So, if you have JESUS IN YOU< then you are "in Christ" and you received  all that which on that list as The Grace of God.

-------

In most New Testaments, the words of Christ are in RED, as this is symbolic of the Blood Covenant that IS The New Testament, that IS the word of God as found in a Holy Bible.

----------------------

I'll list a few Pastor's who are basically Theological duplicates of each other, as that is the power of Paul's Gospel,   Romans 2:16       when its received and believed, in that it creates the same type of sons, as himself.

A  spiritual son,  is a convert who, "under" your teaching has become alive to the Gospel thru the LIFE that is "in Christ", and will teach it in a way that completely reflects the way Jesus taught it to Paul, originally.

These men are the same, Theologically, as they are all the fruit of Paul's gospel that is the Gospel of the Grace of God.

I will assume, then, that you agree that prayer is a dialogue between you and the Lord, and that we should have that dialogue constantly.

And i will assume that if you are a person who admires the 60+ yr faith of Dr. Charles Stanley, you will now  agree that Paul is not to be diminished openly anymore on a public Christian Forum by you, and that the Bible is to be LOVED and Adored and received as the Living words of the Living  God and counted as the Literal message of Jesus given to His Body, The Church.

Dr. Charles Stanely would want you you to do exactly that, because that is what He believes, and that is what He teaches.

I think of it as communing with the LORD.

Micah 6:8 (AV)
8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

Prayer.

At times the bending of the knee, folding of the hands, or the raising of the hands, closing of the eyes, or staring directly into heaven, the silent prayer, the spoken prayer, the songs of worship, the shouting of praise... all of the above and more (the out cry when you see two children riding bicycles on a narrow highway bump and fall into oncoming traffic... "Oh God!") ← this actually happened in California years ago, I was on the side road about to turn onto the highway. The cycler in the back hit his sisters rear tire with his front tire and they fell into traffic. Cars swerved (into head-on traffic) to miss the children... oncoming traffic ran off the road to avoid the swerving cars.

ALL WERE SPARED.

PRAISE GOD!!!

But all the time there was to say was "Oh God!"

It happened that fast. And most were only doing about 45 MPH.

Be mindful of God's presence and awareness of all we say and think and do is (at least IMHO) what the Apostle was driving at (1 Thessalonians 5:17).

Another thing...

prayer that is over dressed in religiosity...

Ewww.

God wants to talk WITH us. Not AT us (and vice versa).

I suppose there is a place and time to set God apart and to worship him...

But all the time?

Ask your earthly father for the keys to the car...

"Oh our father, giver of life to the children of this family, provider, protector, guide...

mightest I borrow thine keys unto thy chariot? Hmm? Amen."

God is our Daddy!

We cry ABBA, Father... Daddy / Father...

he cares about each one of us intimately more than the best earthly father (and I had a terrific Dad).

I love Charles Stanley.

What bible verses did he give to back up his sermon? I can see new Christians being confused by the message in that sermon.
When Jesus asked the disciples to pray, he said this:

Matthew 6:5-15 King James Version (KJV)

And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
