Absolutely. Thankyou. I have noted the Bible sections. My Bible, my garden and quiet are the ways to calm myself.

I have been waking at night short of breath, purely anxiety. I feel i ought to be stronger but i am not. I felt i must say truthfully here how very scared i am.

Walking or exercise is the best way to control stress.  It burns up the fight or flight hormones and helps to get your system back in balance.

Some fear is normal.  It helps us to take action from immediate danger.  However, the terror you are experiencing is likely from the enemy, who roars a lot but his teath were removed at the cross.  Jesus conquered our fear of death.  When we realize that the enemy trying to steal our joy and peace with his toothless roar, he often runs and hides.  Jesus said satan is the author of lies. We don't need to listen to the enemy.

Unchecked Copy Box Heb 2:14  Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil,Heb 2:15  and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery

.1Pe 5:7  Cast all your anxieties on him, for he cares about you.  1Pe 5:8  Be sober, be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking some one to devour.   1Pe 5:9 Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experience of suffering is required of your brotherhood throughout the world.  1Pe 5:10 And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, establish, and strengthen you.  Praise God!!

If you have any praise and worship CDs play them and sing along.  Praising God in the middle of the attack is the best time to praise Him.  It helps to remind me that God is not only with me, He is in control.

I always tell people to go outside n just walk around slowly n breathe the air on the streets or public Park. Instead of watching movies or playing PS games. Its worthy exercise which doesnt ruin your ankle ligament while we get bored at home or in stress, one day i found myself walking  in a small unfamiliar town a hundred mile away from home, got a bus while walking around.

Remember sister God love for you is as high as the heavens.  If a bird cannot die without the Father knowing it then much more he knows our feelings and fears and needs. Christ said if you who are evil know how to give good things to your children how much more the Father will give you the holy spirit. The holy spirit will lead you to comfort and peace through the word of God. So look at scriptures that show Gods help and peace. Like Psalms.  I like ps 23. Dont worry God will see you through this.

I am lowered in mind, body and spirit as never before by this coronavirus situation. Life as we knew it, peace and normality has disappeared.

The stress is going to kill me. I cannot relax or sleep. News of so many deaths, so much suffering. The catastrophic economic effects have yet to be felt. I dread that.

I am in real trouble. I pray day to day. I have begun to switch off my phone and not listen to the news.

Please point me to Bible passages and prayers where i can find comfort. Also what can i do each day to find relief? So far none of my family or friends have got the virus. I need to prepare for that. As it is i feel paralysed.

Having said all this, i depend more than ever on Jesus Christ our Lord. I pray lots and i am granted strength to get through each day and take care of myself, husband and home. Nobody would know how much i am struggling with pure fear and the loneliness of missing seeing my friends and my parents. I hate the way we are separated. I am not strong, i need help.

Any advice gratefully appreciated.

I can relate to your post. I've always been one to think of the absolute worst of any situation and my wife teases me for being a worrier. I'm a realist. I have also been through some very tough times. Homelessness, poverty, unemployment, being dependent and also having people depend on me with their lives, death/loss, foreclosure, etc. I have been through many battles and I know that many more are too come. I have accepted this as part of life per Gods will to challenge us to rise to the occasions. Obstacles in life are Gods way of making us stronger. The current situation is testing my families life hard but we are still getting through it because of the past periods of hardship. I do not know where you are coming from or what you have been through. But you are a lot stronger than you know. I believe that with every fiber of my being. I have faith in you.

That is good that you feel these things. I know that may sound odd but that means you deeply care about not only yourself but everyone you know. That is awesome. You are filled with compassion and you feel powerless in this situation. This is one of the worst if not the worst feelings anyone can feel. I'm no expert or guru, so I don't pretend to have all the answers but all I can do is share what I do. I take it one day at a time. Do what you can today with the resources that you have. Keep up with prayer, keep taking care of your husband and home, you guys are a team in this and doing what you got to do on a daily basis is vital. Do what you can to keep in contact with loved ones you are not able to physically visit. Text, call, etc. Remember, this is only temporary.

Start doing projects like rearranging drawers or rearranging furniture, play online games like chess, or maybe watch informational videos, movies, etc anything that will take you away from the news and the negativity. I know the fear is overwhelming many of us feel that right now and remember that you are not alone. Just take it one day at a time, take some deep breathes when it gets over whelming, and just remember that this to will pass. Let Jesus comfort you because that is what he is there for. He is the eternal shoulder to cry and vent on. This last part is what I do when it gets real bad for me.

I do hope this helps even a little in my humble ability but I do wish you well and remember, you got this.

Often when I used to walk I would be praying and crying and even yelling at God.  He has big shoulders and knew I needed to vent.  The trite words "this too will pass" also helped me.  There is a light at the end of the tunnel.  Our God is faithful!.

Heb 13:5  AMP  Let your character or moral disposition be free from love of money [including greed, avarice, lust, and craving for earthly possessions] and be satisfied with your present [circumstances and with what you have]; for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!] [Jos 1:5]

Grace and peace, Melinda12.

It appears that you have received some great help from fellow believers. I echo much of what has been shared. In addition, I encourage you to believe that God is completely sovereign in everything and knows what He is doing with COVID-19. In my view, this is clearly an end-times sign. So, take heart. The Lord is very near. In fact, I believe that we are only about 3 years away from the resurrection and rapture. Nobody knows the day and hour, but that is a good guess at the year. Here's quite a passage that Jostler from this site shared with me:

Isaiah 26:20-21 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

20 Come, my people, enter into your rooms
And close your doors behind you;
Hide for a little while
Until indignation runs its course [lit., passes over].
21 For behold, the Lord is about to come out from His place
To punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity;
And the earth will reveal her bloodshed
And will no longer cover her slain.

And here is what I posted on my Facebook page:

OF 42 RESULTS FOR "PESTILENCE" IN THE NEW AMERICAN STANDARD BIBLE, HERE IS THE MOST INTERESTING:
Habakkuk 3:5 New American Standard Bible (NASB):

Before Him goes pestilence,
And plague comes after Him.

I BELIEVE THAT THIS REFERS TO CHRIST'S COMING AT THE RESURRECTION AND RAPTURE, WHICH I BELIEVE IS ONLY ABOUT 3 YEARS AWAY. NOBODY KNOWS THE DAY AND THE HOUR, BUT THAT IS A GOOD GUESS AT THE YEAR. 2030 IS THE END OF 6000 YEARS OF HUMAN HISTORY (AFTER 14 BILLION, WITHOUT MACRO-EVOLUTION), THE END OF 4000 YEARS OF JEWISH HISTORY (WHY ALL THE 40S ARE IN THE BIBLE: 40 JEWISH CENTURIES), AND THE END OF 2000 YEARS SINCE CHRIST'S CRUCIFIXION, BURIAL, RESURRECTION AND ASCENSION (CHRIST ROSE AT DAWN OF THE 3RD DAY TO SHOW HE WOULD RETURN AT DAWN OF THE 3RD MILLENNIUM).

I BELIEVE THAT COVID-19 IS THE "PESTILENCE." THE "PLAGUE" IS BETTER TRANSLATED "FIRE." REVELATION 11 TELLS US THAT "TWO WITNESSES" WILL BE IN JERUSALEM IN THE FIRST 3 1/2 YEARS OF THE LAST 7 YEARS BEFORE CHRIST'S SECOND COMING. THEY WILL BE KILLED BY THE JEWISH ANTICHRIST. I BELIEVE, AS DO MANY, THAT THEY WILL BE MOSES AND ELIJAH (WHO WERE ON THE MOUNT OF TRANSFIGURATION). REMEMBER THAT IT WAS ELIJAH THAT CALLED FIRE DOWN FROM HEAVEN (1 KINGS 18). HERE IS WHAT IT SAYS ABOUT THE "TWO WITNESSES":

Revelation 11:5 New American Standard Bible (NASB):

And if anyone wants to harm them, fire flows out of their mouth and devours their enemies; so if anyone wants to harm them, he must be killed in this way.

WAKE UP, ALL! THIS IS WHERE WE ARE IN HUMAN HISTORY!

Love in the Lord,

Clive Campbell

I have taken note of people's replies and advice. I've made sure to read my Bible, ficus back onto Jesus. I've switched the news off except once daily and i switch my mobile off from 9pm to 9am. Take a total break! Started walking in sunshine, reading, gardening. I feel much better.

There is so much i cannot control. I put my life afresh in Jesus hands.

Thankyou so much for good advice here. I cannot help but be frightened but - we have the best help in the universe to help us!

The most helpful part of the sanctification aspect of growing in The Knowledge of God by the study of Scripture is fear is removed by love... we are set free from the worries of this life by the fact this life was never meant to be permanent since the fall. I have experienced this in my life- as a life threatening event began in my body and I was enveloped in a peace so complete that I fell asleep with the thought I was going to be with Jesus soon ...only to wake to find the life threatening aspect was gone. This is what is meant here
Phil 4:7
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
KJV

It is so vital to eat, sleep and drink the Word of God  so that it's truths our more vital and real than what screams at us from the death ....

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
