You pointed to works as the reason. I pointed to heretic behavior. There is a world of difference between the two. If it were works that stands in the place of grace, than James is in a whole lot of trouble! OK—I see. I was mistaken in tat I thought we were on the same page. Curious what your thoughts and feelings are on this? God is an adversary, but only to unrighteousness.... God Who Himself is righteousness itself... Righteousness being, that which is free from all disorder... Therefore is God’s perfection... The Being that is free from all disorder... Scripture says; “His righteous judgements shall be manifested” Meaning that He will be proved right in all He does... How blessed we are to have such a God.. Repenting does not mean going straight from black to white, there is a progress, one each of us walk through, and is continuous. So there is no further misunderstanding, can you unpack your last couple of sentences? Just saying FAITH is so vague you could turn an aircraft carrier around in it. Also, please expound on how you do nothing and Jesus does it all. Do you mean that if you lied to someone and was convicted that you would not repent by correcting the wrong and telling the truth, but instead you would just wait for Jesus to tell them the truth? I want to make sure I understand what you mean. I am sure you did a word search in scripture to see what was said about repentance. How many times did Jesus tell us to repent of our sins? How about Paul? Repentance is part of maturing in Christ. If you don't repent, how do you learn and grow, what fruit can an unrepentant heart provide? Last, how can an unrepentant heart love Him who tells us to repent when the person refuses to do so? If Jesus or Paul or anybody else in the Bible says “ Repent of your sins”, by ALL MEANS—— Do it ! If Jesus or Paul ever say , “Repent of your Sins To Be SAVED” ........make sure you do that also! There’s a small problem though. You ain’t gonna find that statement in the KJV.Nowhere.Paul used the word “ repent” once in Acts , I believe.....John, that great Book we send Newbies to in order to get get Saved, mainly with John3:16, never uses the word “ repent” one time .What on Earth is Up with that?Maybe because Believing in Jesus has Repentance built-in.There are three types of Repentance. The only type of Repentance required for Salvation is the one of the three that means “ change your mind”.......If you have changed your mind about Jesus, going from thinking he never existed or was just a good and wise man to believing that He was the Son Of God that died for the sins of the World and rose from the dead.....You have repented and are saved......more to follow... I remember him well. I also remember Perry Como, another beautiful voice....he was a barber I heard and would sing while cutting hair. A customer told him he should do it professionally....and look at the career Perry Como had! Another Christian, I think. 1 hour ago, appy said: I never heard him sing You must be on the younger side.
