I still have attraction to women who are not my wife and I never acted on that too.   We all have temptations as Christians.

1 Corinthians 10:13  The only temptations that you have are the same temptations that all people have. But you can trust God. He will not let you be tempted more than you can bear. But when you are tempted, God will also give you a way to escape that temptation. Then you will be able to endure it.

Well done, you are aware of how Billy Graham and recently a politician avoided any possibility of sexual misconduct?

They would not be alone in a room with a closed door with any woman who was not his wife. He would not give women lifts if he was alone with them in the car, he was totally honest about his movements, there were no unexpected buisiness deal/meetings making him late.

Thecpoint about that Corinthians 10 verse is the way out is there, but you/

I have to want to take it, it doesn't magically save us,see have to make the effort to take it.

Cutting off opportunity (as in the criminal triangle) helps with temptation.

When we focus on our sin, it is pretty hard to keep from thinking about it. Instead, focus on Christ. If you have a lust problem, go to Jesus. Have a anger issue? Go to Jesus. Talk about others behind their backs? Go to Jesus. He already knew you before the foundations of the world---that you would sin. We can't remove our own sins. If it were true, we would not need Jesus. We could do it all by ourselves! When we realize how much God loves us, we desire to do what He does. The irony is that the more we brag on Him, the more we sing his praises, the more we tell others about Him, the more we realize just how much He loves us.

First a person needs to be aware that lustful temptations are not of God. We are only human and have a sinful nature. God can help us to overcome those temptations. We just need to ask.

While that may be a temptation to have attractions, it's only sinful if it causes lustful thoughts. I don't lust after every pretty woman I see, and I can certainly appreciate their attractiveness. Beauty can be a very pleasant thing to behold, or the Lord would never have let this exist. I'm not perfect, however. Any guy can slip up in their thoughts.

We may be as the Apostle Paul states, "crucified with Christ" speaking of the old man, which is our adamic nature. You will never rid yourself of flesh as long as you're residing within it. It is simply not possible.

The Disciple John, who knew and walked with Jesus personally was well aware this would not be.

1 John 1:8 KJV 8If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.

    • Galatians 5:24 - And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

What's the op ask?

How does one overcome temptations in their life?

And the Apostle Paul gives the best answer on that one, bro.

Galatians 2:20 KVJ 20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Romans 6:6 KJV 6Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

That's correct.

Did I not answer that question? And did I not answer it diversely?

You're still a newbie on this forum, bro. As you become more familiar with members like the opster, he's more into a doctrinal discussion rather than what appeared to be asking for advice. These are his means of posting here on the forums. Bless you, Josheb. You'll understand this aspect a little further in due time.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
