I didn't attempt for it to mean He redeemed Fallen Angels.   I think He revealed Himself to them and set the tone for us Believers in Spiritual warfare.

All eyes shall see him and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord....

Jesus Christ before before he was conceived and born in Bethlehem...was God the Creator of all...

Jesus is EMANUEL...our God with us...

All his creations including the Angel's must see him...they show him before at the time of their creation in their time...even the fallen Angels...and now they had to see him in his new glory....

Every one bow their heads to him...no one lifted up his hands against him...the way it happened just before the Cross...

Jesus Christ was above all in the place of the dead...

He could give Life to everyone who believed in him...not just to Patriarch Abraham and everyone in his Bossom...faith in him as the Lamb of God was required by all. Even Abraham who was waiting for the Lamb of God...as God had shown to him while he still lived...and who send John the Baptist to him with his message that he had met the Lamb of God...the Life giver and that he John as his mission was to proclaim the coming of the Christ of God...unto his brethren when he lived...his mission continued to proclaimed the coming of the Lord to the Bosom of Abraham unto his children as he had promised...

For John was always before the Lord who to proclaim his coming...this is the command Jesus gave him....when the disciples of John came to him...while john was in prison....

That day Jesus did a lot of miracles and he said to the disciples of Jonh

, tell John what you have

            *****

John 5:24,25

24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.

              ******

Did Jesus fulfill this promise imidiadly after his death...when he descended to the place of the dead...

The Harrowing of Hell is a facinating part of the Salvic plan of Christ.

  • 1 Peter 3:19–20: (Jesus) "went and made proclamation to the imprisoned spirits—to those who were disobedient long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water...."
  • Ephesians 4:7-10 NIV: "But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it. This is why it[or God] says, 'When he ascended on high, he took many captives and gave gifts to his people.'[Psalm 68:18] (What does 'he ascended' mean except that he also descended to the lower, earthly regions?[or the depths of the earth] He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens, in order to fill the whole universe."
Philippians 2:9-10: "God exalted Him and gave to Him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus, every knee should bend, of those in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth" (Emphasis added).

Romans 10:6-8: "But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:) Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.) But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;" refers to descending into the deep (the abyss) and this is contrasted with ascending into heaven.
These verses speak of the work of Christ as Himself having done all that is necessary, descending to the deep and ascending into heaven, being complete and sufficient for all who believe in Him. .
  • Zechariah 9:11 refers to prisoners in a waterless pit. "As for you, because of the blood of my covenant with you, I will free your prisoners from the waterless pit."

  • Isaiah 24:21-22 also refers to spirits in prison, reminiscent of Peter's account of a visitation to spirits in prison: "And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORDshall punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth. And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days shall they be visited." (Hardowing of Hell, Wikipedia)

I love this pic of the Harrowing:

Trust in Jesus Christ who before he ascended to Heaven he said that I will not leave you the way I left Noah and his family and there descendants...for indeed God after the flood he left the people and the people were wondering why did he do that to them...he was with Noah or he made himself known to Noah and unto others before him...

But why he didn't make himself known to the descendants of Noah...

So the people de decided to do what perhaps me and you may have done in their place...

If God stays away from us and why...we honored him in our ways...we did not give God a reason to be anger him...(after the flood as the memory of the people was close to the events of the flood...the people had the fear of God...

They were good...perhaps that was a good time to lived on earth...

So the people got desperate for God and said...if God has fallen asleep-this a way to Express ones self without accusing God of anything...

We will go and found him...or if God doesn't come to us...we will go to him....

We have to give them credit because they believe and looking for God up high and not in some other place on earth...

They build a tower towards Heaven...

They hoped to get his attention and he may like what they were building a wach tower for him...and he might like to make his place on the top of the tower where he can see everyone and everyone can see him...

For the people that time after the flood were living good lives and they were not afraid to be examine by God..

They may also have seen some who had began to go their way...so another reason was...that God can see from the top of the tower who those people were and deal individually with them and no to punish everyone for the bad ones...

This way the good ones by giving God the opportunity to see who the bad ones are...the good can live without the fear of the bad ones and the fear of corporate punishment of God upon the people as to withhold the rain and have famines...

It seems that This is was not the way for man to go to God...

That God had to come to people on earth and not as in the Sinai Covenant but as EMANUEL...

The way Jesus came to us Our God decided to be with us as we could not go to him...

The Gospel story of Jesus Christ....who open the way to Heaven....for mankind...after the Cross..

Dear friend I am glad for your confession that you did not get it...as this is one of the reasons I post..and this to get your attention to start using what Jesus has given you....

                *****

Some of the events that took place and recorded in the bible...they are not there by accident...Jesus referred to them on the road to Emmaus...

We do not always depend on this word or that word and as I am fluent in Greek I am not usually make use of it...

In private studies I do and without prejudice...

The Scholars have done it with prejudice...protecting their own doctrinal beliefs....

Read them with discretion as they cannot be crossexamine and definently not by a sympathizer...who is turning a blind eye...

Philippians 2:9

9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father

       *****

Your posted comment to the above scriptures...which I am not sure that is your own comment or of the comment of the scholar you were quoting from...

And his name is not wonderful...wise counselor...the  Bright Morning Star..the EVERLASTING FATHER....

Not even Paul...who dares to tell Paul that he weights poetry...in serious matters like that...

   ******

This can also refer to the power of Jesus over Satan. The passage is poetic, and so need not mean that Sheol is under the earth.[8]

Hope that you rescan the above comments ...I found them offensive...you did not put this issue in the open for discussion....

Are those comments your or the Scholar's you were quoting....

Are those comments reflect what you believe...in this matter...or is it the Scholar's...has the Scolar retracted this statement or say something that reflects a change of mind...if it is show..we would like to know...

Is it a statement of Orthodoxy which I have strong reasons to doubt...if it is posted by error and is not a guidance I will have to apologize...for speaking to fast...being ahead of my self before I ask you first....

Honestly I do not recall ever posting this, I think its someone else.

I probably did post Philippians 2, but I’d never deny that Jesus is called: “Wonderful Counselor, Everlasting Father, and Bright Morning Star.”

This is weird. Can you give me a link to this post, the page and etc?

  • Ephesians 4:7-10 NIV: "But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it. This is why it[or God] says, 'When he ascended on high, he took many captives and gave gifts to his people.'[Psalm 68:18] (What does 'he ascended' mean except that he also descended to the lower, earthly regions?[or the depths of the earth] He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens, in order to fill the whole universe."
Verse 8 above is a truncated paraphrase adapting Psalm 68:18, with a changed point of view: "When you ascended on high, you led captives in your train; you received gifts from men, even from the rebellious—that you, O LORD God, might dwell there."(NIV) The parenthetical verses 9–10 of Ephesians are widely read as an exegetical gloss on the text. The word for "lower parts" (the comparative form: τὰ κατώτερα) is similar to the word used for "Hell" in the Greek version of the Apostles Creed (the superlative form: τὰ κατώτατα, English: "lowest [places]").
Frank Stagg writes that the entire passage Ephesians 4:1-16 is a prayerful exhortation to the readers that they measure up to their high calling in Christ. He takes "measuring up" to mean in terms of the unity and maturity of the one body which they already are (vv. 4,12,16). He says that in this long paragraph, the goal of redemption is the building up of the one body of Christ. Verses 4 through 6 set forth their sevenfold unity: "one body, one Spirit, ...one hope..., one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, the one over all and through all, and in all." Without mentioning "harrowing", he writes that "The very Christ who ascended is then described as the one who descended and who gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors, and teachers to the church.[10]:p.195
  • Philippians 2:9-10: "God exalted Him and gave to Him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus, every knee should bend, of those in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth" (Emphasis added).

It's about the statement above that follows philipians 2:9,10

This must be the Scholar's and not yours..

It seems that the Scolar believe at the time he wrote that comment that to go to Sheol after death that the dead did not desended..

As he said Sheol is not under the Earth...

Then where is Sheol then to him....

And how one goes there...if not descended at the time of death then what? Ascended?

David talks like he is in Sheol...and that's where Jesus finds him right after the Cross...or that's where David was waiting for the Messiah his Lord God Jesus the Christ to come right after the Cross to take him out from Sheol in the Heavenly place...as in my Father's house they are plenty ..no shortage of units...

David must have been waiting for Christ together with his Patriarch Abraham and his seed...where everyone else from the seed of Abraham was gathered after death...minus the unrighteous ones....

Oh my! Sorry, it was copy and paste job from Harrowing of Hell Wikipedia Page. I thought it only had the Scriptures, not commentary. I’ll fix my OP and remove errata (error) put by the commentator.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
