This is an odd question but i cannot help wondering if there is any indication in the Bible about it.

Do you think when we are saved, we get a guardian angel assigned to us? Then when we pray to God, this our own angel acts to save us from evil spirits and demons who may be oppressing us?

It is just such a comforting thought. Warrior angels do feature in the Bible.

The Bible does not state nor imply that we have a one-on-one guardian angel who protects us and doesn't allow anything bad to happen to us and follows us around making sure we don't get into trouble.

Angels do minister to people and have protected people in a lot of circumstances.  Angels are called "ministering spirits" in the Bible.  The "ministered" to Jesus after his 40 fast and dealing with the temptations of the devil.  They minister to us occasionally.

Angels have a lot to do.  God does send them to people sometimes for various needs.  I think people misunderstand the meaning of Matthew 18:10.

I don't believe that we all have a personal angel assigned to our personal good life, welfare, protection, and happiness.

I do believe that God has sent angels to intervene in my life and the lives of my family and friend occasionally.

I've known and experienced angelic intervention on a number of occasions.

Hebrews 1:14 14Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

Psalm 91:11 11For he shall give his angels charge over thee to keep thee in all thy ways.

So, the answer would be an affirmative yes.

I also believe they were overseeing me previous to salvation or I may have died before receiving Christ.

Nothing wrong with praying for protection. Our main provider is Jesus Himself and by His Spirit.

It is indeed.

Yes. We know Michael battled and Gabriel even though primarily a messenger, is certainly capable.

Guardian Angels?

I've also known friends and one time in particular, my mother experienced this.

Hebrews 13:2 2Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unaware. .

God's Divine Council is a full time job. He directs the cosmos from here as might be understood by reading Enoch and other texts. There are different categories and tasks and orders of these Heavenly Beings. From what scripture tells us, they do a lot of stuff that we do not witness.

They are constrained by our time when needed and God is always on time. There is probably a lot going on in the spirit realm that would likely send us to crazy-land if we did see it all. 'Angels' or heavenly beings and messengers (the real meaning of angelos) carry out their various functions and the Watcher Class seem to be those that do the general safeguarding of humanity.

It seems to me that God himself saves us, not angels.

Yes, I would love to share Mom's account as she told me many years ago her encounter. One day a man from the streets who by all appearances seemed to be an ordinary drifter but for a few differences from the typical tramp. There was a kindness about him above normal and a fairness of facial features, including his eyes. Ordinarily, she would have the normal response to a stranger and she being alone in the house. Send such a person away and do not trust. She'd been approached in her childhood years and knew better even more so as an adult.

He asked not for a contribution of money as most would during the tail end of the Depression Era. No, he asked her is she had any bread to spare him and water to drink. There was sense of peace surrounding this gentleman, so it placed her somewhat at ease. She hesitated for a moment and the man was turning to walk away unaided and empty handed. "No, wait a moment, if you please and be seated on the steps here." she said to him. "I'll go inside and make something to take with you." And so he waited patiently outside and Mom when back in.

She made up a couple of sandwiches and poured some juice that was freshly made in the refrigerator and returned to the kind man who didn't appear dirty in any way, though dressed plain and ordinary. He took the paper plate and Dixie cup filled with a cool beverage and sat eating quietly to himself, while my mother watched over him. He spoke words of kindness, his travels to different places, and speaking to the people he met along his way. He said she had shown mercy and compassion towards a perfect stranger and how rare it was in the world.

He stood up to leave, gave her a wink and sweet smile, then slowly turned and walked on.

Mom thought to herself, "Lord, was this perhaps an angel as the bible speaks of?" And wondered.

Mat 18:10

Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones, for I say unto you, that in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

This could be a reference to guardian angels.  All of the angels that did not fall with Satan, are ministers of God.  They serve Jesus, as we do.  But my conversation is with Jesus directly.  He has made himself accessible to me directly.  This is highest priority in this life and the next.

Rev 22:8-9

And I John saw these things and heard them.  And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel which showed me these things.  Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not, for I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book.  Worship God.

Whether or not there are guardian angels, the key to everything is Jesus.  He is the way, the truth, and the life.  He is the love of God, and my love.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
