Suicide is the Devils solution.

2 Cor. 7:10, For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

I believe suicide is self murder. Once dead, one cannot repent of it.

But then the Lord can dig us out of any hole.

Yes, it is. I have absolutely no dispute about this whatsoever.

I can't get away from the fact that suicide seems like a logical decision to me. Life is tiring and often painful. It makes sense to me to want to end that. If it somehow didn't hurt loved ones or someone had no loved ones then I don't think I'd be able to argue against it.

Only God knows whether the decision to let God end their lives was a selfish motive or an unselfish one.  Some people know that their health is getting progressively worse and there is no earthly solution, so they stop taking their medications and leave it in God's hands.  They don't want to be a burden to their families or possibly even do harm to them.  They commit their lives to God.  Even Jesus refused the sop.

Other people commit suicide to escape, thinking it is the end to their problems; satan has deceived them so they blow their heads off with a shot gun.  God knows their motives and the reason.  I have prayed and witnessed to some of those and grieved for them.

I would NEVER take that chance of being separated from God forever. Even if 5 million Christian scholars told me that I would go to heaven, I would NOT take that chance.  I guess the question is, can you purposefully break a commandment, ask for forgiveness for the sin that you are about to commit and still go to heaven.

Or if you do something under the influence of mental illness or substance are you held accountable for it?
These are all too complicated.

So do not take this chance. Nobody's opinion on this matters because none of us can say with 100% certainty that a person that commits suicide goes to heaven.

So it is more prudent for the person contemplating it to assume that if they went ahead with it, that they would permanently be separating themself from the Lord God for eternity.  Weigh that out before murdering yourself and trying to control when your last day is.

Romans 12:21 " Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."   He alone should determine our coming into the world and our leaving of this world.  None of us knows what tomorrow brings.  Eternity is FOREVER... we cannot comprehend.

But even the most painful life here on earth is a very finite limited time compared the perfection of heaven for eternity.  Heaven is what makes ALL suffering worth it.  Suffer well and be an encouragement for those suffering less than you are.  End the race well my brothers and sisters in the faith !!  Allow God alone to determine when your last day on earth is.

Hebrews 12: 1-3 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.  Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Psalm 40: 1-3

  "I waited patiently for the Lord;
And He inclined to me,
And heard my cry.
He also brought me up out of a horrible pit,
Out of the miry clay,
And set my feet upon a rock,
And established my steps.
He has put a new song in my mouth—
Praise to our God;
Many will see it and fear,
And will trust in the Lord."

God had nothing to do with this corruption that is found here ... we as man chose it! That being said God did curse this world because of that choice but we see Him in Christ bear that curse upon Himself

Gal 3:13

13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
KJV

Knowing redemption is not of the flesh but of the s/Spirit

John 3:6

6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
KJV

1 Cor 5:5

5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
KJV

This life in flesh is not permanent and when placed with that which there is of no end 'Life Eternal' I would say should not even be a consideration....

I would never advise any person to commit suicide.  Like others have said, we just don't know.
But it's not worth taking the risk.
What about the scripture that says "God will destroy those who destroy his temple."?  1 Corinthians 3:17 (some translations have 'defile', not 'destroy'...but still..

You have confused 1 Corinthians 3:17 with 1 Corinthians 6:19.

1 Corinthians is referencing the church.  The whole chapter is about divisions in the church based on what mortal man they followed.  Paul claims to have laid the foundation of Jesus Christ as the foundation of this church in Corinth when he started it.  He says "you yourselves" - plural.  The church.  Divisions destroy churches.  False teaching destroys churches.  This is what he is speaking of.

1 Corinthians 6:19 is talking about the individual's personal body as the temple of the Holy Spirit.  But he is not talking about suicide.  He is talking, in verses 12-20, about the grievousness of sexual sin.

Suicide is horrid and leaves so much damage behind.  But these two passage are not referencing suicide.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
