Which denomination do you belong to and why?

The "Friends" or Quakers as they are more commonly known, are or were pacifist, anti-war, have been openly in protest of armament, and by majority are socialists in their political standpoint. They're a nice group of people, don't get me wrong. But, as far as truly born again, a good many of modern day Quakers who live in the secular world don't have much when it comes to Christianity.

You could, they're also well meaning folks who do believe in Christ. The fact they observe Shabbat being on Saturday is also an admirable thing about the Adventist denomination. They are also conscientious about their dietary needs which is also good. Like Quakers though they are strongly adherent to the Arminian doctrinal beliefs. Other aspects of the doctrines of Adventists are a bit spotty here and there due to this.

It would be advisable to proceed doing this when possible. It's certainly no emergent thing that salvation depends on. All born again believers should be obedient to full-immersion by baptism. "Sprinkling" doesn't quite cover it adequately. It's okay I guess, but severely lacking a blessed experience. You need to get properly "dunked" on not miss out on it. Symbolically, it does stand for and mean a lot.

The Church, which is the Body of Christ, is comprised of many members joined fitly together to the glory of Jesus Christ who purchased us from this world by His own blood. The Living One who was dead and is alive forevermore is not of this world, @Ervin P. As such neither is His Body of this world because Christ is our head, not these leaders of men. We bear our cross and follow the Lamb of God which is foolishness to the perishing; accordingly the Church is everywhere and nowhere. Where two or more gather in His name, there He is.  Where the Lord goes the perishing cannot follow... our coming and going is like the wind. 

Yes, members of His Body are found in those worldly institutions called churches which addresses the mystery of how we're "everywhere and nowhere." Here is the Lord's parable of the wheat and tares which represents the state of affairs in this present day: 

Jesus presented another parable to them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field. But while his men were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went away. But when the wheat sprouted and bore grain, then the tares became evident also. The slaves of the landowner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ And he said to them, ‘An enemy has done this!’ The slaves said to him, ‘Do you want us, then, to go and gather them up?’ But he said, ‘No; for while you are gathering up the tares, you may uproot the wheat with them. Allow both to grow together until the harvest; and in the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather up the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them up; but gather the wheat into my barn.”’” (Matthew 13:24-30 NASB)

The harvest comes. :) 

Tares growing alongside wheat explains the lack of unity in the world's churches, Ervin. No, it's not truthful to describe every congregation in such a manner but rather, the responsibility for this rests upon the shoulders of those men who rule over sheep and goats alike. Woe to those who teach others to stumble.

People are like trees...excuse my example and may not be the best one...but we can learn from that example a lot of things about our selves...they can grow with or without the help of the those who look after the trees...

Who prune the tree in the way they think is better for it...making the  desitions about the tree without asking the tree...

 

We do not remain the same ...in every aspect of our being...not only the physical but in all other areas of how we think and how we perceive...

I believe when the disciple said "be kind to one another...accept one another in the name of the Lord in  Jesus Christ...in the love and grace of our Savior.. the kind side of Jesus Christ...not the Lord Jesus Christ...the Judging one executing authority...giving everyone what they deserve...but to JesusChrist who died for us while we were yet in disobedience...who is blessing us when we do not deserve to be considered for a blessing...the Jesus who was thinking how to bless those who executed judgment on him....the Jesus who turns the other chick who takes away the fear of retaliation...

..and not in the name of the denomination and our personal perceptions...which always are subject to change...and then what ? Are we going to demand everything around us to change as we change...

We see the kindness in the church people...yet this kindness is push back for the duty...the need to protect what the people stand for...to do that they become hostile to some but great defenders to their own peers...so persecution is not absent in the church in the form of a cold shoulder...every church every group has a cold shoulder...

Take the good from the church you are visiting...the fellowship the kindness the worship...do not say anything against them...keep to your self...you can say it to Jesus till you learn how to inquire about something without discussing it...

Fellowship with them till they suggest baptism to you...

Some churches won't baptized you till you confess consent to their ways...they want you to represent them...

Other churches will baptized you because of what they stand for....

Others they will tell you ask Jesus to baptize you...

Others will tell...you already live the repented life...but do it for the people around you...so they have the chance to correct you...by remind you your baptism pledge...

And they will also give you their blessing to marry into their family...

The church is not an open discussion place...is the place to go along with the leadership...

None.  I am a Non-Denominational Fundamentalist Christian.  Previously, I was a Roman Catholic, Agnostic, Non-Denominational Charismatic Christian, Assemblies of God, Southern Baptist, and now just a Christian who accepts the Bible as literal truth.  I see science as confirming Holy Scripture.

By chance and circumstance an Anglican. 

I do not think it matters. As long as you accept Jesus Christ as saviour and believe the Bible is the true Word of God. I am convinced denominations are not important overall. Certainly not as a source of contention. Instead we can learn a lot from each other by peaceful dialogue.

What denomination.. thats hard. Well we know and hear the classic answer which is "just a follower of Christ, no denomination etc" which are true. For me started with Baptist (saved very young age). Then a bible study where if its not in the word of GOD don't listen to them. That bible study they believed all the word and.. so many signs wonders of GOD always happened. Everything was about God/Christ/Holy Spirit.. always pointed to Him.. always gave just Him and Him alone all the glory and praise. Never ever talked about others in any negative way. Prayer.. was is the key.

So from Baptist, Church of God (the good one. Some know what I am talking about) Assemblies of God, Pentecostal, Charismatic, Word of Faith etc. :) I don't pull my self out and think I some how have the real truth. I see Christ.. you can to yes? Hes always upfront.. now turn around.. wow look at all those tents. One of the key factors in all this is "they will know you are mine by your love one for another". The ones I have been raised around so to speak have been the most loving, kind, giving.

Lol its hard at times to sit and listen or watch read and just look for my Jesus in the one talking or some book. Hard not to make it personal. So that what I personally believe should never be the gate. So I look to make sure its written and the "spirit" to see love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.  And to make sure I am thinking on whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things. His body.. I am just part of this awesome wonderful beautiful .. lack of words.. this is how I truly believe.

Since I don't get to share much.. just last night praying. I remember once just standing out side and there was some old movie playing. I was just standing. This person comes up and says "your a Christian aren't you?" I said yes how did you know? They said "there's just something about you". That light is in each of us and everyone should see it. See we do good things but.. that light shines no matter what. At that time everything anything was ALL Him. I was not looking listening to any thing of this world.

So duh that thought to have that light shine again.. not hidden is Him talking to me. I don't want to be seen.. I don't want to known.. I want them to only see Him. In Jesus name

People tend to form groups and tribes. I believe this is true of many churches. In the case of denominations, many of them likely started as someone's idea for a better more accurate church or conversely, a way for a false teacher to propagate their nonsense.

Some people have become despondent and have given up looking for a church. I have members of my family I hold in high regard who claim to be Christians, but don't attend an assembly.

Most Christians want to be with other Christians. I think it's a tragedy for people who have given up. If you don't find one group teaching the right things or find people who aren't displaying the fruits of Christians, with allowances made for human fallibility sometimes, then look elsewhere. Nothing worse than realizing you settled for less when there was another church just a few more miles away that has what you need.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. 

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. 
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house. 

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
