I said 'someone' not a group. Still not answering my question.

I will simplify: Do you believe that not speaking in tongues,  means someone is not Holy Spirit baptised?

Easy basic question.

Thank you!

No definitely no.

This is a continuing conversation with Fritz, that is why I am quoting him in my replies. I am answering his points.

Perhaps that is why it seems puzzling?

I am not medlin in your beef.

But should we not briefly know something.

As, it is the reference about the baptism of Jesus.

If you think so.

We would like to  bring this matter for discussion in our groups.

But as you simplify the question the issue in question is clear. Thank you for that.

And I gave an answer which is no.

What do you say?

And why?

Please do not think I ignore you, but this post is beyond my grasp of English language construction and interpretation, so I will not respond.

However, I have made no reference to the baptism of Jesus, perhaps someone else did. I said that everything changed at Pentecost, when Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to us all.

For @DeighAnn and others who are interested --- not assuming that my brothers and sisters don't know --- here are passages of scripture which are relevant to what I have seen from the Lord.

"Heaven is My throne and the earth is the footstool for My feet.
Where then is a house you could build for Me?
And where is a place that I may rest?
For My hand made all these things,
So all these things came into being,” declares the LORD.
“But I will look to this one,
At one who is humble and contrite in spirit, and who trembles at My word."

(Isaiah 66:1-2 NASB)

And coming to Him as to a living stone which has been rejected by people, but is choice and precious in the sight of God, you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices that are acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 2:4-6 NASB)

A longer passage by necessity.

So Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and said, “Men of Athens, I see that you are very religious in all respects. For while I was passing through and examining the objects of your worship, I also found an altar with this inscription, ‘TO AN UNKNOWN GOD.’ Therefore, what you worship in ignorance, this I proclaim to you. The God who made the world and everything that is in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made by hands; nor is He served by human hands, as though He needed anything, since He Himself gives to all people life and breath and all things; and He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation, that they would seek God, if perhaps they might feel around for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; for in Him we live and move and exist, as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we also are His descendants.’" (Acts 17:22-28 NASB)

Any time is the perfect time to share God's words and praise His holy name. I jump for joy and if I could access the roof of this place where I live, I would position myself up there and shout these things for all to hear! :)

Marathon, I noticed on the first line of your response here to DeighAnn that you were able to specifically identify her username in the shaded area... which I believe is a function within WCM that tells her she has been directly quoted. Can you please tell me how to accomplish this?   Thanks, Charlie

I said that everything changed at Pentecost, when Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to us all.

This is that promise of the Lord, that He shall dwell with us and teach us. While this is clearly presented in the scriptures it is nevertheless difficult for some to understand that God does as He pleases, due to a proclivity for pattern-making and a need for conformity within the grasp of man.

There's no shame in this. Not at all. While it's true we all share certain afflictions in common there are challenges in this world unique to our walk with the Lord. There is an example in the scriptures (the book of Acts) of some who believed in Christ but when Paul encountered them, had only received the baptism of John.

This isn't evidence that they weren't saved; it pleased the Lord that Paul would lay hands upon them. Are the gifts of God ours to give? Of course not! This has everything to do with gifts of the Spirit and the Lord equipping us for service.

Did Paul receive gifts on the road to Damascus when Christ blinded the apostle with His glory? No. Paul was sent to the brethren as this pleased the Lord. Was absolutely everything recorded in the scriptures? No. How much time passed before Paul was deemed fit by the Lord to go forth as His chosen vessel? This shouldn't matter but it does to some.

I understand that. Like you, sister, there are things to which I won't respond. For me it has everything to do with what is fit and bears good fruit, but quibbling over minutiae has no place among the brethren. It stirs up strife and confusion.

As for myself, 25 years passed from the day I was baptized in water until the Lord lifted me up at the conclusion of the fiery trial. During those years I suffered greatly and endured tribulation, learning about this flesh in a manner pleasing to Him. This was the appointed time because once again, there is a time for every matter under heaven.

Jesus Christ lifted me up in spirit and by doing so, equipped me for service. The Spirit of Christ saw fit to bestow gifts, some of which relate to those talents God planted in me while I was in my mother's womb and are served by them. Talents and gifts... another topic worthy of discussion, perhaps. :)

As for these gifts the Lord Himself continues to teach me about their nature... they are not mine to do with as I will.

Certainly, @Charlie744. What you witness stylized in blue represents what you enter on the keyboard.

You begin with "@" and then type the letters of the forum member's name...

@Marathoner. We can't tag ourselves but that is how someone else would tag me.

Rather easy when a forum member has a unique moniker. I hope our brother Justin doesn't mind if I tag him in this post as an  example. When I type @Justin, I am presented with a drop-down menu of choices representing forum members whose monikers include "Justin." I narrow the choice when I type @Justin A...

There is currently only one forum member with this arrangement of letters in their forum name, being @Justin Adams. Click on the choice and there's your tag. I hope that helps. :)

P.S. --- This works on most phones and tablets as well.

Marathoner, thank you very much for your response / answer..... me think you might be a professor or one along those lines.... thank you!

So, I am going to try this now....  @Justin Adams .... yes, it certainly worked! And by the way, if @Justin Adams gives you any trouble you just tell him he should be happy you remember his name..... he can really be trouble sometimes.... @Justin Adams @Justin Adams @Justin Adams @Justin Adams @Justin Adams

Now, how do you like that @Justin Adams  and don't you dare say an unkind word to Marathoner....

Be nice @Justin Adams  Charlie

I didn't quote our sister but rather, tagged her because I know how she enjoys the sharing of scripture and felt she would appreciate it (I love this too!). Quoting or tagging a member sends a notification to the member who was quoted or tagged.

I won't tag her here, but if I were to do so then two members would be notified of this post: you, because I quoted you; and our sister DeighAnn because I tagged her.

Ahem. Dearest @Charlie744.

See how I did that? I tagged you to garner your attention without quoting your... artwork. :whistling:

Because you are guilty of minor trespass and have tagged excessively, you are therefore sentenced to minor bopping by crockery. All in good fun, hence your sentence is appropriately light. Verily!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
