I heard that, too. Hope I don't waste the money.

$600?? What's the point. That won't even cover half of most peoples mortgage.

And yet it is reported that tons of money is going to other nations in this law.

Almost 6000 pages...who knows what is in there.

Shameful.

I hate to be the stick in the mud here. I think we are becoming too dependent on the government. Getting used to handouts.

At one time the churches were the biggest helpers. Now it's welfare. Not called welfare any more. Don't get me wrong, during this time many people need unemployment and help of some kind. I just wish it didn't always have to come from Uncle Sam.

We give him a bunch of our money and then think he is doing us a favor when he gives a little back. I'll tell you how he could really help us out. Do what government should be doing and leave all of the social engineering work out of it. How about cutting our taxes? All they do is go up.

I paid into Social Security all my life, but will be surprised if there's much of it left when my turn comes around to draw it.

I read somewhere that the president wants $2,000 not six hundred.

$600 would help . . . $2000 would be much better. I can use the $600 emergency funds I paid to get the car out of the shop. Still need to replace the ammo I went through at the firing range too. Just sayin'.

The argument for it is it's supposed  to be a "a stimulus" for the US economy because people will go out and spend the money at local businesses.

In reality many people will not support local businesses. The last stimulus check we ended up using it to buy flooring at a big box corporate store only because they had the best deals on it. Others bought big screen televisions and other similar things all made in China and bought online. Yes I'm sure some of it went for local business. Undoubtedly a lot of it went for mortgages, rent and food.

I'll bet a LOT of it goes to trivial stuff that doesn't help the local economy JMOP.

I believe the dual working families get 2000.00
